Playdoh

Dearest Skyler,

Thank you for having breakfast with us! You woke up early and spent a bit of time with Papa before he had to go off to work. :D

You wanted pizza for lunch so Mama got you some. :D

In the afternoon Mama opened your big Play-Doh set for you! You had fun until you played with the part that caused dough ‘hair’ to ‘grow’ out and it scared you. Poor Darling. You really didn’t like it and you completely stopped playing with the whole set. :p

Later on Mama had to scold you because you were making so much noise. After you’d calmed down you watched TV and that prompted you to want to ride bicycle, play golf and skate! Hmmm… maybe watching so much TV isn’t good for you. :D

Papa came home and we had dinner. Papa was very tired and almost reneged on his promise to bring you to the library. Fortunately Mama encouraged Papa to keep his promise and we did. :D

We drove down to the library and you played with the toadstools and read a few books. Mama borrowed several books for you before we dropped by the supermarket to pick up some things.

We then came home.

Rest Day?

Dearest Skyler,

You were so cute today, while Papa was talking to Mama on the phone, you went over to look at it. Mama told you that it was Papa on the line and you said, 'Hello Papa, play see-saw? Bye-bye! See you soon!'

Mama then told you that Papa wanted to bring you swimming, then you said, 'Library book, right? Go see-saw, right?' Mama then told you about the swimming pool again and you said, 'Swimming pool, cold,' then you shivered. Mama then asked again if you wanted to go and you finally said ‘yes’. :D

Later in the afternoon, you were in Papa and Mama’s bedroom with Mama for 2 hours but you didn’t want to sleep though you were sleepy.

Mama and you put together the wooden toys of the bedroom set that we’d bought from the Point. They’re such a cute collection of toys with a baby cot, bed, etc. :D

Papa brought dinner home. We ate before we drove to the swimming pool. We hung out at the pool for some time before heading off to the playground so that you could play with the seesaw and the slides. :D

We stopped off to buy some bread before heading home.

Moh-moh's Place

Dearest Skyler,

You kept getting up this morning, asking to walk and crying. Mama had to keep on pretending to ignore you until you finally went back to sleep. You were actually more rested by the time you got up! You ran around the flat saying, "I'm happy!" this morning. :D

You had packed your Totoro bag to go out. Mama hadn't even known you were going to bring it! When we were leaving, you just grabbed it. Mama had to empty out stuff from it as she was already carrying 2 heavy bags!

In the lift, on your way out, all the kids who came in commented on you big Totoro bag to their parents. :D Wow! You’re the talk of the lift! :p

After getting to Moh-moh’s you played hide-and-seek with her. You also watched Care Bears. Mama and Moh-moh tried to nap later in the afternoon but you didn't want to.

You then met Papa at the Point after leaving Moh-moh’s. We had dinner. You are eating so much more. You just keep on eating if we offer food to you. Well done, Lil’ One. :D

After dinner we came home to rest as Papa was tired and you were probably sleepy-cranky as you hadn’t had a nap.

You had a bath again and you played with your cups. It took us quite some time to convince you to go to bed. Hmmm… you really can stay awake if you want to. :p

Long Car Ride

Dearest Skyler,

You woke up at 4 am this morning looking for Papa. You had taken up Papa's side of the bed when Papa came to bed. As Papa didn't want to disturb you, Papa had gone to sleep on your bed. Poor Mama had to wake up as well to bring you to look for Papa.

You wanted to watch TV but we refused to let you as it was not a good habit to develop, Lil' One. That is, watching TV at all hours of the day and night. We gave you some milk and managed to convince you to go back to bed.

After you woke up in the morning, Mama and you played a bit, read a bit and played with your new toys. You both also finished off the remaining piece of pie for lunch. In the afternoon, both of you went back to bed for a nap.

When it was time to wake up to pick Papa up, you couldn't get up. You wanted to continue sleeping. Mama managed to get you up only by enticing you with a visit to the fish pond in Papa's school. :p

Thus, when you both arrived at Papa's school, we had to bring you to the pond to visit the fish.

We then drove over to Mama's school as she had something to do. Papa and you waited in the car. Mama was quite quick this time so we left soon after for Grandma's.

The traffic was very heavy so it took quite some time for us to get there. Poor Baby Gal! You'd been stuck in your seat for so long!

We had dinner at the usual coffeeshop near Grandma's. You were such a good girl! You sat in your seat and ate throughout our meal.

We dropped by Grandma's place after dinner. You'd wanted to jump on her bed but we didn't let you as we'd just had dinner. After a short while, we left for home as Papa was very tired. But you didn't want to leave though. :p

To make up for making you leave, we swung by the playground near our place and let you sit on the see-saw and play with the other equipment. Again you didn't want to leave but Mama managed to appeal to you to let Papa go home to rest.

When we got home, we let you have a bath instead of a shower. You totally enjoyed playing with your cups in the water. :D

What a long day it had been! :D

Chingay North

Dearest Skyler,

Mama was not well. Still, Papa and you went down to Church. After church, we bought lunch and came home to have it.

After lunch, we napped a bit.

After we got up, we took the train to the Point. There was going to be a Chingay celebration aptly called ‘Chingay North’. They had Lion and Dragon dances. Some of the performers also waved big flags and did some acrobats with them.

Another highlight was the floats. The whole road was lined with floats decorated in various ways. When they set off for their road trip around the north of Singapore, they set off fireworks to signal their departure. :D

We then had dinner at the ice cream place before shopping a bit. We headed home after that.

Back Flip

Dearest Skyler,

You woke Papa up early this morning asking for TV. You refused to go back to sleep until you watched a bit. So, Papa got up and spent time with you. You watched a bit of 'Higgly Town Heroes' and had some milk before heading back to bed.

We woke up later in the morning and rushed for your gym lesson. The theme today was 'Shoulder Beholder'. You got to do the wheel-barrow and you also helped the teacher to demonstrate a back flip. You were so brave in doing the latter. All the other kids had not wanted to do it. You just happily walked up to Teacher and let her do what she needed with you to demonstrate the skill. :D

After your lesson, we bought you your customary Milo before heading for lunch at the soup and bread place. You fed yourself lots of bread and soup. :D

We drove down to Mama's school after stopping off at Upper Bukit Timah. Mama had to do something at the library so Papa and you went down to one of the residential halls to while away the time.

We came home for a nap after Mama was done.

We drove down to the nearby yacht club for dinner. It was fairly crowded but not overly so. We ate some yummy food before we took a walk along the jetty.

We then came home.

Moh-moh

Dearest Skyler,

Mama had to go in to work today so we asked Moh-moh to come to care for you. Moh-moh loves you so much that she willingly came. :D Thank you, Moh-moh!
Moh-moh spent the afternoon playing with you! You had so much fun with her. :D

In the evening, Mama and Papa came home and we all drove down to Gong-gong and Popo's place for dinner. Bubu came too.

You had lots of fun playing with all of them there. :D We spent quite a bit of time there before heading home. You were so tired by then.

After we got home, we all slept in your room as you wanted to. But poor Mama had to go back to Mama and Papa's room as the smell of the wood from your bed was still too strong.

Elephants

Dearest Skyler,

Papa was still unwell today so Papa had no choice but to not go in to work for another day. Sigh...

You woke up a bit early because neither Mama nor Papa were with you in the room. You came out with Baby Bear looking for us. You asked to watch 'Higgly Town Heroes' so Papa let you watch one episode before giving you some milk and we all headed back to bed.

After we woke up, as Papa was feeling better, we drove over to a neighbouring estate to look at a nursery there. We're still trying to decide where to put you for lessons. Sigh... We wish we could keep you with us forever but you've got to go into the world, Lil' One.

We then went to the Point for a dim sum lunch. We hadn't had this for quite some time. After lunch, we walked around a bit.

As we also hadn't been to the zoo for sometime, and Papa was still okay despite being a bit tired, we went to visit the elephants. We visited quite a number of the animal enclosures and saw lots of the animals. We also took the tram for a short ride. You kept on touching everything you could which worried us a lot as you're still sucking your thumb. :(

We then brought you for your customary Milo before heading back to the car. You refused to sit in your seat when we got there. You wanted to sit on the driver's seat so Papa gave in to you. You played a bit there before you were willing to get into your own seat.

We drove off and stopped over to buy some dinner before getting home. You were so tired that you slept the whole journey home.

After we got home, we heard the drumming of a lion dance performance downstairs so we rushed down to take a look. They were having some sort of Chinese New Year dinner and the performance was part of it. You're so fascinated with the lion dance but you so totally dislike the drumming. :p We had to wait a bit before the performance started.

After it ended we went back upstairs for our own dinner and prepared for bed. You couldn't sleep so we ended in bed really late again.

Papa's Sick

Dearest Skyler,

All of us woke up early this morning to see Papa off to work but Papa wasn't feeling well. Ironically, Papa really had a tummy ache this time. It was funny because you've been playing 'Doctor' and your diagnosis has always been that your patients have a tummy ache. Papa felt that he could not go to work so he stayed home. All of us then went back to bed.

We all got up later and brought Papa to see the doctor. He suspected that Papa had a stomache virus. He gave Papa some medicine and we had stopped for lunch before heading home. You have a habit now of always pointing out a fastfood place and asking for Milo. :D So, we gave in and let you have some.

We went back home and took a nap as Papa was very tired. We woke up so much later. The virus really knocked Papa out.

In the evening, we drove down to the Point for dinner. As Papa's tummy was still getting cramps, Papa didn't really feel like eating much so Papa only had soup and a drink. You ate a bit of Mama's food as well as the soup.

As it was already quite late, most of the shops had closed so we went home. By the time we went to bed, it was past midnight as Papa was still not feeling so good.

Going Underwater

Dearest Skyler,

Mama and you played, sang, read and ... did the usual throughout the day, Lil' One. In other words, fun, fun, fun! :D

We went for a swim in the evening. You had been waiting to visit the pool since yesterday. We brought your float and ball. You're getting more and more confident in the water. However, you slipped and went underwater twice resulting in your swallowing some water. Poor Darling Girl!

We're so glad that all this dunking doesn't discourage you from enjoying the pool, Lil' One. You're such a brave girl! :D

When we got out of the pool, it was so windy that Papa caugt a chill! We were also so afraid that you would feel chilly too but thankfully you were okay.

We then came back to the Point for dinner. We ate at the foodcourt before having a waffle. We almost went for an ice cream float but it was very late already.

Knock-knock

Dearest Skyler,

Gong-gong came to visit today. You were so excited! He played with you all your favourite games - hide and seek, etc.

You even got Gong-gong to play knock-knock with you. :D You've taken to asking us to stand outside your room and you'll shut the door and ask us to knock and ask for permission to enter. :D The funny thing is that Papa made you stand outside to knock too and you incorporated that into your game. You would then ask us to knock and when we got in, you'd run out and shut the door to knock and we have to let you in. :D

Gong-gong also brought you downstairs with your tricycle. But you got hurt a bit. You walked along the edge of the pavement and you slipped and scratched your foot. Thankfully you were able to tell us about it so we could deal with it.

Popo came a bit later to spend time with you too. You were so cute! You got your toy comb and started combing her hair.

Papa came back after work. You did a few forward rolls all by yourself that so impressed us, Lil' One!

We had dinner after Gong-gong and Popo left. You've been eating a lot more than you did before. You completed your whole bowl of rice!

We then tried to get you to bed early as you were so tired.

Animal Crackers

Dearest Skyler,

We went down to church today. There was Children's Church. Both Papa and Mama stayed with you. The aunties bought all kinds of biscuits. Aunty Niki gave you some animal crackers. You were so cute! You made the animal crackers kiss Mama, Papa and yourself on our cheeks before eating them. :D you also had other types of biscuits.

After a while, you went to pick up a basket and went 'shopping'! You went over to a bookshelf, picked up a book, placed it in your basket and headed to Mama to pass it to her. You kept on doing it again and again and Papa had to keep on taking the book from Mama to return it to the shelf. :p

After church, we walked over to Sushi-Tei for lunch. You wanted to practise using the tweezers to pick up some ginger. You still have some problems with this but it's okay. :D

We went back after lunch and while we were waiting for Mama, we heard the drumming of the lion dance troupe. You said that you wanted to see the lions so we went to look for them but you got scared by the loud drumming so we quickly went back down. :p

We walked a bit around the flea market before we left for home. You were so sleepy by then you fell fast asleep in your seat.

At home, you were not sleepy at all! Both Mama and Papa wanted to nap but you just kept on walking around playing. After a while Papa got up to keep you company though he was still so tired. Why were you so energetic, Lil' One?

Later in the afternoon, you did a forward roll all on your own! You’ve gotten so adept at it! Well done! :D But you mustn’t do it anywhere else other than on the rubber mat and at the gym, okay? Don’t hurt yourself.

We drove down to the Point for dinner. We ate at the foodcourt. You're really so good at sitting throughout the dinner now. After dinner we went for a walk at the department store before going for some ice cream. We headed home after that.

Lion Dance

Dearest Skyler,

You woke up early this morning and asked if Papa'd gone to school as Papa was not in bed with Mama and you! You so understand the concept of Papa having to work already, Lil' One. Papa had actually gone to sleep in your room as he didn't want to disturb you. You found Papa there after Mama told you. Papa and you went back to bed after you had some milk.

We brought you for your gym lesson in the morning. The theme was ‘Rock and Roll’. Again you were so brave in doing many of the skills but apprehensive about others.

After the class, Papa brought you to the McDonald's to get a cup of Milo. There were two lion dance troupes in the building and you were so disturbed by how loud the drums were but you so wanted to watch the lions. :D Papa brought you to view them at various places. :D

At the playground, you went up the slide on your own! You came down totally safe and sound. You can play on slides from now on, Lil’ One, and Papa doesn’t have to worry about you being on it so much anymore! :D

We then went for lunch at Cedele. We think we left your colour pencils there. :p Oh well, we’ll get you others.

After that, we drove over to Aunty Angeline and Uncle Louis’s for a New Year visit. Everyone had just woken up from a nap so spirits were low for a while. :D We were actually all so tired. :p Later on, Che-che Rebecca and her parents came and you went to play with her and Che-che Alyssa. :D

We went to Papa's boss's place for another New Year visit after that. She lives near Grandma. You were agreeable to watching the show on TV for a while with the other children before you just hung out with us. You kept on crawling onto our laps and did not wander very far from us. :D

We visited Grandma after that and had dinner with her. You were so exhausted by then you fell asleep at the dinner table. Poor Sweet Baby!

We came home and put you to bed early as you’d had such an exhausting day!

Gecko & Frog

Dearest Skyler,
Mama had to go to school to get some stuff done so we had to ask Aunty Doo Guat to watch you this afternoon. Mama brought you there via MRT. Papa picked you up when he was done at work.

You're so grown up already, Lil' One! You were so well-behaved on the train. You're such a joy! :D

You were initially shy about going to Aunty Doo Guat's but after Mama told you that Papa was going to pick you up, you were better.

So, you spent a couple of hours there playing with Kor-kors Matthew and Zachary. When Papa came, Aunty Doo Guat said that you were such a good girl! Yay! :D We're so glad you're so well-behaved, Lil' One! :D

Papa brought you to Mama's school to pick her up. Mama had bought you a gecko and a frog toy from some people in her school. They were made by disadvantaged women and the money would go to them. You had an immediate liking to the gecko. It was cute to see you holding it by its tail. :D But you must know that we don't really like lizards in real life, okay? :P

We drove down to Ngee Ann City after that for dinner. We shopped around a bit before heading home.

Valentine's Day

Dearest Skyler,

We brought you for a swim in the evening. You'd been asking to go since yesterday. At the pool, Papa brought you up the shorter water slide. Mama was waiting at the bottom to catch you. As we came down the slide very quickly, you still went under water. You were so scared after that as you'd drunk some water. Poor Skyler. But you were still a very courageous girl. You still wanted to go on it next time. :D

You continued to keep on running around from one pool to another so you got a chill from running around in the cold air. :p Poor Lil’ One!

After we got showered and changed, we drove down to Plaza Singapura for dinner. You had your usual visit to the sheep and you sat on several of the kiddie rides.

We came home after that.

Papa and Mama used to have plans for Valentine’s Day, Lil’ One. Now that we’ve included you in the celebration, we hardly do anything different. But the love that our family shares is so much more now. :D

7th Day of CNY

Dearest Skyler,

We had dinner at the vegetarian restaurant at Novena Square with Gong-gong, Popo, Bubu and Moh-moh. Bubu gave you a toy fireman's helmet. You had some fun running around and trying out the food. You also kept on visiting everyone around the table.

After dinner, we walked around a bit and you played with the foosball table that they’d set out. You also kept on playing with Gong-gong lots. :D

We headed home quite late after that. :p

Toy Drawers

Dearest Skyler,

We bought you and set up some drawers that we bought from Ikea for your room. We’ve put a lot of your toys in it. :D It looks quite colourful so we think you should like it. :D

Peek-a-boo

Dearest Skyler,

Mama and you spent the day doing much the usual things i.e. you had lots of fun with Mama participating in toy playing, pretend games, etc. And of course watching TV. :p

After Papa got back, we drove down to the Point for dinner at the Chinese restaurant. We were sitting near the glass windows and while waiting for our food, there was a che-che slightly older than you sitting on the chairs outside who played peek-a-boo with you. You were so amused. :D

After dinner, we shopped around a bit before heading home.

Hello Che-che Reika

Dearest Skyler,

You woke up early today wondering where Mama was. Mama had slept with us in your room but she had awakened in the middle of the night as she was quite uncomfortable not being to turn around in bed so she went back to Papa and Mama’s own bed to sleep. You woke up and missed her so you insisted on going out to look for her. After drinking your milk and watching a bit of TV, we put you back to bed. You were so sleepy but you refused to sleep and it took a bit of time before you fell asleep. As you had not gotten enough sleep, we had to miss church today.

When you got up again, you felt so much better. You went around greeting Papa and even told Papa that “Mama still sleeping. Shhh!” :D You then ate lots of biscuits as Papa had to do some work and you were hungry.

After we got ready, we drove down to Plaza Singapura for lunch. Before lunch, we went to visit the sheep at the bedding shop. After lunch, we did a spot of shopping. You were so sleepy by then. :p We’d also bumped into Mama’s cousin and her family. :D You were so shy that you could hardly look at them. :p

We drove over to the Ikea in Tampines to pick up a storage cabinet for your room. You were so sleepy that you slept all the way in the car. When we got to the carpark, we decided to let you sleep a bit more before waking you up to go into the store. While we were selecting the storage options, you enjoyed a ride on the trolley! :D Papa even helped you put a chair on the trolley and wheel you around while you were on the chair. :D

After paying for the storage cabinet, we headed over to Grandma’s as we were going to have dinner with Ah-Pek and her. As usual, you asked for your milk when we got there. :D

We then headed over to the nearby coffeeshop for dinner. You ate a bit of the food. While we were having dinner, you kept on asking where Che-che Reika was. We suspect that you were expecting to see her at the dinner. We think that you still don’t understand that Ah-Pek’s family is not here. Oh well… Anyway, Ah-Pek was so nice. He understood that you missed Che-che Reika so he asked Ah-Erm to call Papa’s phone so that you and she could speak with each other. :D In the end, we ended saying ‘Hi!’ to all of them. :D They all miss you as well, Lil’ One.

After dinner, we said farewell to Ah-Pek as he was going to go back to his family soon and we wouldn’t be able to see him before then as Papa would be busy with work. Farewell, Ah-Pek! See you soon!

We then drove home to rest. You then watched your ‘Higgly Town Heroes’ again and you also kept on asking for biscuits. :D

Busy Saturday

Dearest Skyler,

Yet another busy Saturday, Lil' One.

We woke up a bit earlier so we could go over to Aunty Chris and Uncle James's for a Lunar New Year visit. :D Their whole family was in so you got to play with kor-kor, che-che and mei-mei.

We couldn't stay for long as we had to bring you down for your gym lesson. We managed to get there early as the roads and carpark were relatively empty. :D

We had your lesson where the theme was Backwards - you got to walk, run and hop backwards. You also 'learnt' backward roll and walking on the balance beam backwards. :D You're such a good student, Lil' One. You participated in all the mass activities and you also did all the skills.

We walked around the Toys ‘R’ Us for a while as we wanted to get Che-che Reika, Kor-Kors Yujin and Kenji some toys. We were going to ask Ah-Pek to bring them back. You had so much fun playing with all the toys that were around. :D Papa also brought you around the store on a scooter. You balanced on the scooter and Papa pushed you around. :D You also tried out a bicycle that was your size! But you’re still not ready to cycle yet, Lil’ One. You just stared at your feet and couldn’t look up to see where you were going. :p

After buying some stuff we walked over to have lunch at Cedele. You fell asleep at the table after eating a bit of bread. You also had a bit of soup but that was it. You couldn’t wake up even when Mama tried to wake you to have a bit of cake. :p Poor Lil’ Darling!

After lunch, we dropped by Aunty Candy's to return the clothes Mama had borrowed. Even though we literally just dropped by to return the clothes, Aunty Candy exchanged Mandarin oranges with us and even gave you an ‘Ang Bao’ though you didn’t even get out of the car to wish her ‘Happy New Year’ or ‘Gong Xi Fa Cai’. :p Thank you, Aunty Candy! :D

We then drove down to visit Godma Audrey. She was at home waiting for us to come. :D She had prepared drawing materials for you and also allowed you to feed her fish. You also entertained her with your ‘Sleepy Bunny’ song actions. :D You kept on eating her brown rice crackers too. You must have liked it quite a lot! :D

After some time, we drove home to take a nap as we’d been out the whole day and we were all tired. :D

After our nap, we drove to the Point for dinner at Swensen's. We had some ice cream too. :D By the time we completed dinner, all the shops that were open had closed for the night. You are SO cute! You came out to the dark shopping mall and said “It’s night time!” :D You’re so able to communicate already! :D

We then came home to shower and prepare to sleep. However, you slept very late as you refused to go to bed. In the end, you went to sleep way past midnight! :p

2nd Day of the Lunar New Year

Dearest Skyler,

We went down to the zoo in the morning to watch the Lion Dance performance today. It was a special event and you wanted to see it so we woke up earlier just for this. However, we woke up a bit late still and had to rush to get there for the performance.

You enjoyed watching it from a distance but when the performance had ended and the ‘lion’ was heading off to another spot, it came by you and greeted you! You got so scared that it was so close that you actually trembled. Poor Lil’ One!

We then headed into the zoo to look for the capybara – the largest rodent in the world. :D There was supposed to be a feeding session but they were running late and as we had places to go, we had to leave.

We drove down to Plaza Singapura as Carrefour was open and they had some discount vouchers that we could use to buy more of your milk and diapers. :D We spent a bit of time there buying stuff before heading for Popo’s place. We had not visited the day before so we had to go today.

Bubu and Moh-moh also came. Once again you had a ball playing with Gong-gong and the rest of the family. You also played hide-and-seek with Moh-moh. We had lunch there too.

After lunch, we headed off to Bubu and Moh-moh’s home to pay our respects as well. :D You played with Big Bear and they let you watch Care Bears and Chicken Little. However, you didn’t really understand these shows so Moh-moh brought you into the Study to do some art and craft and play with other things.

We then left and headed to United Square to buy some groceries. You were so sleepy that you slept throughout the shopping trip. You were still sleeping when Papa put you back into your car seat for the journey home. However, after we got home, you were no longer sleepy.

We thus stayed up to put up an organiser behind your room door and then prepared our very own steamboat dinner. We spent some time eating it before washing up. We then put you to bed.

You’re so cute, Lil’ One. You’ve gotten so used to saying grace before eating that you will say grace even when we’re not there. :D

Lunar New Year’s Day

Dearest Skyler,

Today’s Lunar New Year’s Day! We went out visiting almost the whole day!

We woke up a bit late as we were all quite tired. Once we did though, we rushed to get dressed and headed off to Dai-Bat-Gong’s place. We met Popo, Bubu and Moh-moh there. Of course, Kor-kor Yuping was there too. :D You had some fun there playing with his toys and cars.

After that, we headed off to Grandma’s once more to visit. It is customary to visit all our elders to pay our respects and also receive blessings from them. Thus, though we were there only last night, we had to visit her again – of course Ah-Pek was still there. We stayed for a short while there and of course you had to ask for your milk again. And of course you had to jump on Grandma’s bed again.

We then headed off to visit Dai-Po’s place where all of Mama’s relatives were. Of course Popo, Bubu and Moh-moh were there too. There were so many people there. We had got there late but thankfully we managed to catch everyone. :D As you’re the youngest member of the family now, everyone wanted to play with you. :D You had some fun playing with everyone. Che-che Kexing also enjoyed playing with you. She kept on carrying you… she even helped you put on your socks and shoes when we left. :D

When we were leaving, you wanted to sit in Bubu’s car so Moh-moh put you in the back seat and strapped you in. :D

We then headed home after that to get a nap. After we got up, we headed off to the Point for dinner. It’s so strange that the food stores were open. Previously, when Mama and Papa were growing up, no stores were open at all during the first few days of the Lunar New Year. We always had problems getting food or anything. Now, most of the food stores are open and we don’t have such worries at all.

We ate at the Mos Burger restaurant and you ate some of their food. You especially enjoyed their corn soup. :D

After dinner, we headed home to rest.

2nd Reunion Dinner

Dearest Skyler,

You had awakened early today as Papa was preparing to leave for work. You were so cute! You got up and saw Papa off. You kept on walking between the bed and the front door – between sleeping Mama and going to work Papa. As you went from the bedroom to the front door, you were singing such a happy tune! You were so cute and sweet! :D

Papa managed to come home a bit earlier today as it was New Year’s Eve. Once Papa got home, we dashed off to try to buy some more New Year goodies from the factory sale. However, by the time we got there, there was hardly anything left. We only managed to get another box of “Kueh Bangkit” for Mama. We wanted to get another bottle of “Kueh Bulu” for you but they had none left. Sorry, Lil’ One.

After that, we headed off to the Point for lunch. After our dim sum lunch, we tried to look for “Kueh Bulu” for you but the store had run out as well. We ended up buying one bottle from the supermarket. We also bought a few other stuff like yoghurt for you before heading home.

We took a nap at home before heading off to Grandma’s for our 2nd Reunion Dinner of the year. Ah-Pek had also come back for some work-related business so we managed to have dinner with him too.

You had some fun jumping on Grandma’s bed as usual. Hmmm… Skyler, you seem to have this habit of needing to have your milk at Grandma’s. Everytime we’re there, you’ll ask for your milk. :D Papa’s not even sure that you really need the milk. :D

After dinner, we headed home to rest.

1st Reunion Dinner

Dearest Skyler,

Mama and you spent the whole day at home playing with your toys and watching TV and singing songs. :D You always have so much fun with Mama! :D

In the evening, Mama and you drove down to pick Papa up from work as Papa had a meeting until fairly late. After picking Papa up, we all drove down to Popo and Gong-gong’s to have our Lunar New Year Reunion Dinner. :D Bubu and Moh-moh came as well as it is customary for the whole family to come together for this dinner. :D

You had such fun playing with them all. :D

We also had lots of steamboat food. You ate quite a bit of the food as it was all quite yummy – especially the soup that had the taste of all the food that we had steamed. :D

After dinner, we headed home to sleep as Papa still had work the next day. :p

The Hunt for New Year Clothes

Dearest Skyler,

We drove down to Bugis Junction to look for New Year clothes for Mama and Papa.

We went into the M Industrie shop to look for T-Shirts with a cute mouse on it as it’s going to be the year of the Mouse this coming Chinese New Year and you were so excited by the Mickey and Minnie Mouse toys. However, we couldn’t find any designs that we liked.

At dinner, the waiter delivered the food and you pointed at the carrots and said, "Carrot!" but what stunned us was you going, "Broccoli!" Why would you know it's called that! We hardly eat broccoli! Anyway, you’re always surprising us with what you do know, Lil’ One. Keep it up! :D

After that, you tried to bite into a baby carrot and it was too hard for your baby teeth to cut and you said, Naughty Carrot!" You're SO cute! :D

We headed home after dinner as it was late already.

Sunday School

Dearest Skyler,

We went down for Sunday School today. We were quite late today so by the time we got there, lessons had already started. You jumped right into the swing of things though. :D After doing some drawing, we brought you to wash your hands and then gave you some milk. We then all watched a bit of Veggie Tales. Che-che Eadoin came to play with you for short while after which we had to head home.

Mama was feeling terrible today. We think that she picked up your gastric flu. We spent the afternoon sleeping as she needed to rest.

In the evening, Papa drove down to the Point to pick up dinner for us all.

Mama was feeling really terrible. Poor Mama!

You stayed at home the whole day and played at home as we were just too tired to go out or bring you out.

Busy Saturday

Dearest Skyler,

We had such a busy day today.

You woke up in the middle of the night and asked for milk so Papa got up and prepared it for you. After that, you wanted to watch Jojo's Circus so Papa let you watch one episode. Thankfully, you were ready to go back to bed after that. :D

In the morning, we woke up and rushed for your gym lesson. It was buddy day today and we had invited Aunty Ching Ching and Mei-mei Kristen to join us.

You had your usual fun time there though you were so sleepy. And you were so willing to try out all the skills they taught today. You even sat on the parachute as we dragged it round and round! :D

One father soured the lesson for Papa though. He had kicked a ball that they had taken out for the lesson very forcefully and it had hit the ceiling and bounced back down. Thankfully, it didn’t hit anyone. Papa thought he was inconsiderate for having done such a thing in a room full of toddlers as he could have hurt someone. The next thing Papa knew, he kicked another ball that hit one of the kids who then bumped into you as you both were returning the balls into the bin. Papa was so angry! But as the gym people had the foresight to provide such balls where it was difficult for you all to be hurt by them, Papa calmed down and let it be.

After the gym, we drove down to the hospital where Mama had to pick up something. You were so exhausted that you slept all the way through.

We then drove down to Marina Square. We had lunch at Kenny Roger's Roasters where you ate your corn nibblets. After that, we went to buy Papa a new pair of shoes.

At the shoe shop, we bumped into Aunty Ching Ching, Mei-mei Kristen and her Papa. He was looking for a pair of shoes too.

You played with Mei-mei for a while before Mama brought you to look for Bubu and Moh-moh who were having lunch nearby. You were so happy to see them. :D

Bubu also went to buy a pair of shoes after lunch. :D

After walking around for a short while and catching a wushu performance by kids, we drove down to Ikea. We needed to have dinner and we also wanted to look for furniture for your room. You had such fun playing with a puppet lion during dinner and with the toys at the kid's section after dinner.

We then drove over to Grandma's for a short visit. Pek-pek had come back on business and we wanted to pay him a visit. You had fun jumping on Grandma's bed again. :D

After that, we drove home. At home, Papa went through some of our videos of your first few weeks home. We watched the clip of you being bathed by Papa and soon you dashed off to the bathroom asking to be bathed. :p When Papa refused as you'd already showered and it was too late to bathe once more, you were so distressed! :( Were you nostalgic about being bathed? Sorry, Lil' One. Tomorrow?

Vivocity

Dearest Skyler,

Mama and you came to pick up Papa from his work place this afternoon. We then drove down to Mama’s school so that she could hand in some forms.

After she was done, we drove down to Vivocity as we’d not been there for some time and we were relatively close by.

We had dinner at the food court where you enjoyed some of the food. After dinner, we brought you to Chameleon to walk around. You so enjoy playing with the hair clips and such! :D We also took a walk along the waterway. When we came back inside the mall, you were so sleepy that you laid down on the bench and tried to sleep. But we couldn’t let you do that! :p

We walked around a bit more looking at various stuff and dropping into a few shops before setting off for home.
