Dearest Skyler,

At 6 plus in the morning, you got up again and asked Aunty Chris for ‘milo’ before you went back to bed until 9 o'clock.

At about 9.30, Papa came to get you. Mei-mei's with us, Lil' One! :D

We dropped by our place to deposit your things that we had left with Aunty Chris before we headed to the hospital so that you could meet your Mei-mei.

Mama and Papa had so prepared you for Mei-mei that you accepted her immediately. :D Everytime Mei-mei cried, you would dash over and comfort her. When visitors came, you would invite them to take a look at her. :D You're such a good che-che. :D

There were a stream of visitors who came to visit including Godma Audrey. You were so thrilled to see her. Aunty Karen and Godma brought you down to McDonald's for lunch and got you another Happy Meal toy - a series created for the Beijing Olympic Games next month.

After the visitors had left, Papa brought you home to nap as neither of us had had enough sleep.

After we got up, we headed back to the hospital once more. Grandma was already there. We went for dinner with her at the foodcourt. You were misbehaving a bit so Papa brought you outside to speak with you. It didn't take long as you knew that you were behaving unacceptably so we went back in and had our dinner. You didn't fuss anymore during the meal. Good girl!

Grandma headed home after dinner and we went back to Mama's room. Gong-gong and Popo came again to visit. They'd come during lunch time too. Bubu and Moh-moh came a bit later.

After they'd all left, Papa tried to bring ourselves home but you refused to get in the car and insisted on staying with Mama. Papa totally understood that you missed Mama and wanted to be with her but we really needed to go home so that all of us could get some rest. You refused and fussed for quite some time. We ended up being in Mama's room for another hour and all of us were so exhausted by then as we'd not had proper sleep for two days!

In the end, you relented. But first, we'd to check that the bean milk shop was really closed for the night.

We finally got home and went to bed. Papa has not spent a night apart from Mama for a very long time and it was strange. But we can imagine it's worse for you - two nights without Mama. Sorry, Lil' One. Mama will be back soon.

Overnighter

Dearest Skyler,

It was a typical morning for you today. But it ended with something that you'd never experienced before.

In the afternoon, Papa came home early as we had to bring Mama to see the baby doctor. You were still sleeping when Papa got back.

Papa quickly got you dressed and we headed to the car. Mama didn't even have time for her lunch. After we got to the hospital, Mama went up to the clinic first as the car park was quite crowded and we couldn't get a lot easily. So, Papa and you waited in the car until we found a lot.

By the time Papa and you got up up the clinic, Mama had already gone in to see the doctor. As we couldn't go in today, we went out to the garden to let you sit on the turtle and tortoise. After a while, we decided to head back in to look for Mama.

As we were walking back into the clinic, we bumped into our baby doctor. She told us that she was admitting Mama immediately as Mama's waterbag had leaked and it had lost lots of water.

We went in to look for Mama and got details from her. Yes, it was time for Mei-mei to join our little family!!! :D

Mama was brought to the Delivery Suite and Papa brought you for lunch at McDonald's. You ate a bit of your chicken burger and corn. You finished the whole cup of Milo!

We then headed home. We'd planned beforehand to have Aunty Chris watch you when Mei-mei came. You watched a bit of TV and had your bath. You then wanted to choose your own clothes. You emptied out your drawers of clothes onto the floor in an attempt to look for something specific but you couldn't tell Papa which it was! This frustrated Papa to no end. Papa then had to fold all your clothes and put them back into your drawers. While Papa was doing this, you spotted the shirt you wanted. This was scant comfort to Papa though. :(

Papa then brought you to Aunty Chris's. She gave you a bit of food for dinner then you spent the night playing with Che-che Joan, Mei-mei Dawn and Kor-kor Luke. You played with toys with them, carried their hamster and did some drawing.

At 9 plus, you were so tired that you went to bed without any fuss. But you got up again at 10.30 and sat in the corridor. Aunty Chris was only alerted to your being awake by the noise you made. She came to check on you and you told her that you were not sleepy anymore. But everyone had already gone to bed so no one was awake to play with you. So, you went back to bed soon after.

Papa and Mama were so worried about you. This was the first time you have been away from us overnight. Thank God you were okay being with Aunty Chris's family.

Dawn-Dawn

Dearest Skyler

You managed to sleep through the night until past noon today. You did get up a bit now and then but you went back to sleep again. You're finally sleeping through the night once more! Yay! :D

Mama was feeling terrible again today. She was so tired but she couldn't get to sleep. It was a good thing that you slept through so that she could rest a bit. But Mama was lonely though. If you'd been awake, you could have kept her company.

When you did get up, you wanted Mama to stay in bed with you and go to sleep. You were really sleepy, Lil' One.

This evening, we took a short walk to Aunty Chris's place to return her her lunch box and lend her a DVD. You were very eager to go see them. You even took your small beaded cross to show Dawn-dawn. :D

When Papa and you got there, everyone was still awake except Che-che Joan. You passed them the box and DVD and Papa had to remind you to show Dawn your cross. It was so cute watching the two of you passing the cross to each other. :D

We tried to get you to bed early but it didn't work out. You were so awake. We realised that you can't go to bed without booming first and this didn't happen until much later. Poor Darling Girl.

Hurricane Skyler

Dearest Skyler,

You woke up after Papa had left for work today. Mama spent the morning with you watching TV and making toilet roll core puppets. You used the coloured paper that we'd bought the night before to make rabbits! :D You gave it a face with ears, feet and a tail! :D

It was only at 9 plus that you went back to bed. Mama couldn't sleep again due to all the aches and pains. Poor Mama!

You woke up again only after 2 in the afternoon. That is your schedule now. :D Mama let you watch TV as she was really aching and thus couldn't do much with you. But I guess you didn't really mind, did you? :p

Papa came home in the evening with dinner but you once again didn't really want to eat. You only wanted to eat your chicken floss. We got you to eat a bit of rice with the floss. Even then it was very little food. It's a good thing you're still growing. :p

After dinner, we were all so sleepy, we took a nap. We woke up even later in the evening. It was a good thing we had our dinner earlier or we would have ended up eating very late again.

We then did our usual evening activities. Mama came up with the idea of making you help to pack up the mess that you'd created througout the day - as you wanted to watch TV, you had to pack up first. Wow! You packed up so neatly! The mess left behind by Hurricane Skyler was no longer in evidence! :D

It took us a while before we went back to bed. We've decided that you should put on a pair of shorts or pants when you sleep at night. Mama thinks that a reason why you wake up in the middle of the night is that you get cold. We'll try it out, okay?

Messy Schedule

Dearest Skyler,

We'd tried to get you to bed at about midnight but by the time we called it a night, it was past that. But you still couldn't sleep. You kept on wandering around and talking to yourself while we tried to sleep and also pretended to sleep. By the time you turned in, it was past 2.

This didn't stop you from waking up at 6 this morning to watch TV though. :p Mama had also ordered us some McDonald's breakfast so we had our breakfast together before Papa went for a court case.

After Papa had left, you and Mama went back to bed. You managed to sleep but poor Mama was kept awake as she was really uncomfortable. Mei-mei's coming soon and she's really big and heavy. Poor Mama!

Papa came back in the early afternoon and you woke up to find us having lunch. We tried to give you a bit of macaroni but you didn't really want much of it. You're really growing up on your ‘milo’, Lil' One.

Papa and Mama were really tired and sleepy so after watching a bit of TV, we headed back to bed for a nap.

When we woke up, it was evening already. We headed to the nearby neighbourhood centre to get dinner and do a bit of grocery shopping. You wanted yoghurt so we got you some. We'd also gotten some origami paper so that you and Mama can do some handicraft.

You had your yoghurt for dinner and also some chicken floss. You enjoyed that so much. You refused to eat any of the food we'd gotten.

By the time we had dinner and everything else, it was quite late once more. Oh well ...

We've really mixed up your body clock, Lil' One. You sleep later than any child we know and you spend so much of the day sleeping when most kids your age are attending childcare of some sort. Oh well ... Hopefully your schedule will be sorted out before you have to go to school.

Tired Skyler

Dearest Skyler,

We spent more than an hour at the hospital. After you'd awakened, Papa brought you up to the Delivery Suite to wait for Mama. We couldn't see Mama as she'd been placed in the observation room.

You wanted to sit on the turtle so we went to see if the garden was open for us to do so. When we got there, the garden was closed thus we couldn't go in. So we walked around the 'mall' instead. All the shops were closed except for the 7- Eleven.

We went in to the 7-Eleven and walked around. You were so cute! You picked up the soft cushions and hugged them so tightly. :D

We then went to the bill payment machines to pay a few of Papa's bills. You helped to press the numbers and everything! Thanks for helping, Lil' One!

We then went back up to wait for Mama. You wanted more water when we got there. Papa helped to get you some. When you realised that you could reach the water dispenser you kept on going back there to fill our cups with more water. What a great device! You were so thrilled that you could get more water that you drank lots so that you could top up more water! :D You also got a cup for Mama and filled it as well. You're always so considerate, Lil' One. You keep on being aware that all of us need one of each of everything. (You always keep a book for Papa when you're reading with Mama when Papa's still at work.) :D

You were so full of energy at that time of night! You kept on walking, dancing and jumping around. You even attracted the attention of one of the nurses who tried to say hello to you. But you were so shy that you pretended to be busy reading something so you ignored her! :p

We headed home after Mama came out as it had been a false alarm. Mei-mei is not coming out yet. It was so very late by then. And you were still so very awake! :p

By the time you got to bed, it was almost 3 am!

You didn't get up again except for a couple of minutes to look for us at 6 plus when you headed straight back to sleep with Papa. It was only at 2 plus in the afternoon that you got up! But you were so well rested and totally chirpy. :D

You accompanied Papa out to get some lunch and we ate at home. We all then went back to bed for a nap.

After we got up, we headed off to Han's for dinner before driving over to Border's to shop for books for you and Mei-mei. You so enjoyed climbing the stairs again. You kept on going up and down it. Thankfully, Papa didn't have to be with you as you can manage them very well on your own now. Papa'll miss those steps if they remove them. They're so much a part of your growing up! :D

We headed home after that. It was very late again when you went to bed.

Sunrise

Dearest Skyler,

You woke up really early as usual this morning. Mama decided to bring you out to the nearby field to watch the sunrise. You so enjoyed yourself! :D Papa didn't come along as he was still sleeping.

You went back to bed after you both came home. You didn't wake up until past 2 in the afternoon.

We had lunch at home with some makeshift meal. You wanted oats so we prepared you some. Then we watched some TV, played with your toys and then went back for a nap. Thankfully, you were sleepy enough to fall asleep - we hadn't expected that we would need it.

In the evening, Papa and you went to get dinner from the nearby coffeeshop. On our way back, you told Papa that you'd lost froggy! Mama had asked you to not bring froggy along but you'd insisted! Papa thus went back downstairs to look for it. Thankfully, Papa found it near the letterboxes. Papa had actually retraced our path all the way back to the car. Oh well ...

While we were having dinner, Mama said that she had some discharge and we weren't sure if Mei-mei's water bag had leaked. Thus, to be safe, we had to go to the hospital to have it checked.

We took our time as there wasn't really any rush. All of us had a shower (actually, you had a bath then a shower) and we did some last minute packing up before we set off.

First ,we had to set up Mei-mei's car seat, we decided to shift your seat to the right and place Mei-mei's seat on the left as you can take care of yourself more now when getting in and out of the car. Thank God you're so adaptable! You didn't fuss at all at being moved around. You're such a good girl! We love you SO much.

By the time we got to the hospital, you'd fallen asleep. Papa thus waited for you in the car while Mama went up to have her checkup by herself. Mama's so brave!

Well, we'll just have to wait now. The nurses will be calling the Baby Doctor to come and check. We have to wait until she gets here. Sleep tight, Lil' One. We'll know if Mei-mei's coming soon.

Stay Home Day

Dearest Skyler,

We spent the whole day at home today. Papa had come home in the afternoon but he was so sleepy, he spent it napping and it was Mama's turn after Papa got up.

You ate oats for dinner as we didn't go out. And we put you to bed a bit earlier.

Feed Fish

Dearest Skyler,

We brought you to the hospital with us to see the Baby Doctor this afternoon. We got there on time and there were very few people there waiting to see their doctors. Papa thought that we could leave on time and we wouldn't have to wait. It was not meant to be.

Just as it was going to be our turn, the Baby Doctor was called away to help another Mama deliver her baby. This meant that we had to wait for her to complete the operation before we could see her.

You were SO patient while we waited. It was practically an hour before she came back.

After that, you went to visit the turtle and tortoise sculptures and you sat on them. :D

We then went down to Suntec City. By the time we got there, you'd fallen asleep. Mama went off first as she was going to catch a movie. Papa waited for you to wake up.

You woke up almost an hour later. We went to get your diaper changed before we headed for dinner. On the way, we came across a heritage performance. We caught a Hokkien opera and a Mongolian dance.

We had dinner at the foodcourt but you didn't eat much. You really don't eat much, Lil' One. When we compare the amount you eat with other toddlers your age, you can hardly be considered to have eaten! :p

We visited the big fountain but it was not switched on.

We then headed to the Koi Pond instead to feed the fish. There weren't many people there. The fish were not hungry as usual. The pellets you threw in were ignored. Papa felt that it was a waste of food to continue trying to feed fish that were not interested so we went off.

We visited the bunnies and hamsters and there was one hamster that was so active - it dashed around its cage very quickly with hardly any pause! :p

We then headed to Toys R Us so that you could play for a while. After some time, we headed off to wait for Mama.

There was a mechanical horse ride that you so enjoyed climbing onto. We played there until Mama came. :D

By the time we headed back, you were quite tired. We tried to put you to bed early and on the whole, you did.

Skyler Time

Dearest Skyler,

You once again took care of Mama today. You woke up real early to look for Mama as she wasn't in bed. Mama's suffering from insomnia as Mei-mei is making things uncomfortable. Poor Mama. :(

Since you were so awake, Mama decided to do some craftwork with you. You both got your emptied out egg and starting wrapping string around it, glued eyes onto it and gave it packing peanuts feet. :D It looked so cute! :D

Mama doesn't want to disrupt your sleep and this usually puts her in uncomfortable positions. You were sleeping later in the day but Mama couldn't fall asleep. She lay in bed with you as you would usually wake up if she's not there with you. However, she had to do something so she went out of the room. Next thing she knew, you were curled up near her waiting for her to be done! You were so sleepy but you still wanted to be with Mama! :D

Later in the afternoon, Papa came home. He was a bit earlier than usual as Mama had been getting tired sooner in the day and needed to be relieved a bit sooner.

Papa and you went to the pool in the evening. It'd been a sunny day so you both went earlier - this was the first time in a long while that you got there while the sun was still up. :D

You totally explored all the pools as usual. And you're still thrilled that you can walk across the play pool. :D You so enjoy being in the water and Papa so enjoys being with you. :D

But, as usual, you refused to leave the pool when Papa wanted to. This was of course expected. :p Papa had to keep on pestering you before you consented to do so. :p

You both quickly had a shower - you're getting used to showering already. :D

You both then headed to the hawker centre to get dinner. By then you were so sleepy that you fell asleep on Papa's arm. It's a good thing that Papa carries a shopping bag that he can sling on his shoulder when he goes out with you. It's becoming increasingly difficult to carry you on one arm.

At bedtime, you refused to let Papa sleep in your room. We have been sleeping together the past few months but as Mei-mei has become bigger, it's become very uncomfortable for Mama to sleep as there's hardly any space to turn around. So, Papa's been trying to sleep in your room so that you wouldn't crowd Mama so she'd be more comfortable. Tonight you insisted that we all sleep together and you even got Papa's blanket and bolster from your room! :D

Considerate Skyler

Dearest Skyler,

We just can't stop being proud of you. You're such a well behaved girl! Mama was tired as usual from carrying Mei-mei and you once again allowed Mama to rest while you entertained yourself safely. :D

Also, you were so inspired by the episode of Jasper the Penguin where he'd gone to the library and made an igloo out of the library books. You started taking your books off your bookshelf and piling them up on the floor in imitation! :p Afterwards, Mama needed to head to the bedroom but your igloo was blocking her so you cleared a path for her and held her hand to guide her past it.

You're really a great little girl, Skyler. We love you so much!

TV Addict Still

Dearest Skyler,

Even with your new schedule, you're still a lil' TV addict, Lil' One. Once you wake up early in the morning, you'll insist on watching your programmes. When we try to refuse, you'll kick up a fuss until we give in; which we do because we simply don't have the energy to do otherwise that early. :p

Then you'll spend a good part of the day and night watching other programmes. Of course you do get tired of watching TV and you will then play with your toys and read your books. The thing is that Mama gets tired sooner now as Mei-mei is so heavy so Mama has to let you watch TV so that she can rest. But you are quite considerate as well. You will let Mama sleep in the afternoon though you are not sleepy. You'll just wander around the room entertaining yourself while she rests. :D

Papa tries to care for you when he gets home in the evening and let Mama rest so Papa gets time with you as well. Papa wishes that he had more energy to play with you though. Papa's quite tired when he gets home. Oh well... We'll do our best!

Morning Breakfast

Dearest Skyler,

You woke up at 6 plus this morning and Mama wanted us to go to the beach to watch the sunrise. The sun had actually risen somewhat by then but the thought of having a morning walk by the beach was tempting. So, Mama and Papa got dressed but you dilly-dallied in doing so thus we gave up on that idea. It was too hot by the time you decided to get dressed. We all went down to the Point for breakfast instead.

We headed straight for the toast shop and you had your first experience of eating half boiled eggs. :D You didn't like it. :p But you did enjoy your toast. You're such a fan of bread and buns, Lil' One. :D

The rest of the day was spent as usual - naps and meals. :p After we got up from our afternoon nap, Papa and you went out to get lunch from the nearby foodcourt. We bought lots of stuff as usual. :D For dinner, we had our leftover pizza. :p

We so enjoy being with you, Lil' One. You're always so cute in the things you do and say. Though you get us frustrated at times, you always try to amuse us to make us less angry. We simply can't be mad at you for long.

Oh! We didn't let you have your evening nap and you were so willing to go to bed earlier - about 10 plus. Still late by many people's standards but oh so early by ours! :D

Rest Day

Dearest Skyler,

We spent most of the day sleeping today. We have such a strange schedule. You wake up amazingly early and watch TV before heading back to bed for a nap from which you wake up really late in the afternoon so we end up having lunch and dinner late.

Your imagination is really good, Lil' One. You've been creating all kinds of games for us to play with you - the only problem is that we can't understand your rules sometimes. :p

Routines

Dearest Skyler,

You have a whole new routine yet again, Lil' One. You're waking up at 4 am every morning and insisting on watching TV and playing. As Papa has to go in to work, Mama would then care for you and be with you while Papa goes back to sleep. (Papa gets up to bring you to look for Mama who is awake then as she can't sleep due to Mei-mei tumbling around in her.)

Story Teller

Dearest Skyler,

You read to Mei-Mei again today. There's a specific book that you always take out to read to her. You would point to the picture of the octopus in the book and say, "Once upon a time, it's big, like dinosaur." You said the same for every picture in the book! Hahaha! You're so cute!

You refused to let Mama heat up lunch today. You insisted on Mama being with you so Mama went hungry. :(

In the evening, after Papa got home, we all went for dinner at the Point. You'd refused to take a nap and as a result, you fell asleep in the car on the way there. You didn't get up when we brought you to the Chinese restaurant. And you slept through dinner. You only got up after we were done!

We walked around a bit and as we were heading home, Mama wanted a bit of ice cream. In the end, you took the bulk of it and even finished it! Mama let you as you'd not eaten the whole day.

Dearest Skyler,

We love you so much, Lil' One. And you so enjoy spending time with us. You've changed your schedule once again where you go to bed quite late then wake up super early - about 4am as you don't find Mama in bed. You’ll then come out looking for us and watch a bit of TV before heading back to bed. :p

You’re really a lovely girl, Lil’ One! You make us so happy!

Walking Across the Pool

Dearest Skyler,

Papa brought you to the swimming pool this evening as promised. Thank God it wasn't raining.

You were so excited as we'd not been in the pool in such a long time! You again insisted on bringing your float but refuse to use it. :p

We spent most of the time having you float across the learning pool with Papa's help, you walked across the play pool by yourself and played with the bubbles in the bubble pool. You looked so cute tip-toeing across the pool. You're barely tall enough to keep your mouth above the water line. :D

You’re getting so confident in the pool. Well done! :D

Rained Out

Dearest Skyler,

We woke up early this morning to bring Mama to see the Baby Doctor.

We'd expected to be very late but the sequence was a bit strange today so we got caught off-guard when it was our turn.

The doctor scanned Mei-mei and everything was ok. Mei-mei seems to be quite heavy ... Just like you were. :D

We headed back to the Point for a dim sum lunch. After that, we brought you for a haircut. You were so shy you refused to look at the hairdresser. He had such a hard time cutting your fringe properly! Hmmm… you still haven’t gotten used to him yet? But he’s been cutting your fringe for months now, Lil’ One.

Papa brought you to the swimming pool in the evening. The life guard cleared the pool just as we put our foot in as it was raining and there was lightning threat! Sigh … Sorry, Lil’ One. We had to get changed back.

Papa and you had dinner at the eatery next to the pool before heading home. The food wasn’t very good but it was food. :p

Lazy Day

We had a lazy day today, Lil’ One. Didn’t do very much. Didn’t make it to church either. Sigh…

You’re such a joy! We just pray that Mei-mei will be like you! :D

A Tent

Dearest Skyler,

Papa and you went to redeem a tent using your diaper bag bar codes. It was a play tent and it brought you so much fun.

While we were there, we spotted the equestrian shop that sells horse riding gear. Papa brought you in to take a look. But you didn't really like it in there and wanted to get out. Papa thinks it's because of the smell - the smell of horse feed permeated the store. We had bought our horse riding helmets and boots from this store many years ago. :D

You insisted on setting the tent up once we got home. Then you insisted that Papa join you in the tent! The opening was very low and Papa had to crawl in on all fours! :p You started putting all kinds of things in it to play with! :p

We're glad that the tent brought you some fun, Lil' One. :D This diaper brand has really given you lots of free gifts!

Late Night Dining

Dearest Skyler,

You woke up a bit early this morning and when you went back to bed, Mama expected you to wake up very late and she was right! You only got up again at 3 pm!

After you got up, you wanted to dance in bed but when Mama expressed reluctance, you claimed to have an idea and dashed out to get a book to read. After you got back to the room, you dashed out to get another book so that each of you would have one. Then you went out to get another one for Papa though he'd yet to return home from work. :D You so love to have our family doing things together! :D

After Papa got home, we all took a nap. We were all so tired by then. After we got up, we all showered and headed to the Point for dinner.

We ate at the Chinese restaurant. Papa was quite hungry so we got the set dinner. Papa'd hoped that you would be attracted by the variety but that didn't work. You ate a bit of the food but you were very picky about what you ate.

We took a very long time for dinner due to the number of dishes. Also, you were quite fussy so that slowed us down as well. After Papa was done, Papa took you shopping so that Mama would have some time to eat without distractions. By the time we completed our meal, we were the only ones left in the restaurant! :p

We got back very late and of course we got to bed real late as well.

Neighbours

Dearest Skyler,

Aunty Chris, Kor-kor Luke, Che-che Joan and Mei-mei Dawn came to visit this afternoon. Aunty Chris had made some glutinous rice and had brought some over for us.

You had such a great time playing with them. You'd not really gone out during the weekdays nowadays as Mama is so pregnant with Mei-mei. It's been extreme inconvenient for Mama to go out much less bring you out. Thus, their visit was a break in your routine of just staying at home with Mama by yourselves.

Papa came back in the evening and after our nap, brought you out to the shopping area to get dinner and breakfast. :D Papa so enjoys being with you. :D These little trips are always so fun. Actually, Papa wanted to bring you to the pool but after our nap, it was too late. Besides, Papa's still coughing. Another time okay?

Dearest Skyler,

Mama was really suffering from a lot of aches and pains today. And you were such a wonderful girl throughout. You let Mama rest when she needed to. When Mama was sleeping, you would just rest quietly. Otherwise, you would quietly let Mama know that you'd awaken and check if she'd woken up as well. If Mama still needed to rest, you would then quietly play by yourself. When Mama needed bed rest, you would bring your toys to her to play with her and distract her from her pain. :D We're so glad that you're such a great daughter, Lil' One. :D

In the evening, Papa came home with dinner and we stayed home as Papa was so tired and Mama was still in pain. You did such a great job of caring for Mama and helping Papa around the flat. :D Thank you, Lil' One.

Mama Not Well

Dearest Skyler,

Mama's not been well. Sigh ... Mama's very tired these days as Mei-mei has become so heavy. Poor Mama! Mama really has to suffer to bring you both into the world. Oh well … What a great Mama you have!

Mei-mei's coming anytime, Lil' One. The reality of you being a Che-che is going to be reality very soon. We’ve been trying to prepare you as much as we can but we don’t know if you really understand what we’re trying to say to you. We just pray that you’ll get used to her presence quickly and you’ll be able to accept her in the family.

A Monday

Dearest Skyler,

Mama and you had a typical day today. One highlight was Mama ordering in a McDonald's lunch. Mama got you a Happy Meal thus you got to enjoy your favourite corn! :D You got the 'sifu' Kongfu Panda toy as well.

Mama and you then waited for Papa to come home before we all went to take a nap. You insisted on napping in your room so Papa kept you company.

After we got up, we headed to the Point for dinner. Before we ate, we went to the bookshop to buy you a few books as they were having some sort of sale.

We then had our dinner at Swensen's. While Mama ordered our food, Papa and you headed downstairs to pick up a punnet of strawberries as you so wanted to have some. We also picked up a few other things before heading back up.

While paying for our things, Papa realised that the bookstore cashier had not returned Papa his credit card! So, we rushed back up to collect it. Thank God it was still there.

We then joined Mama for dinner before heading home. As it was very late, Mama managed to convince you to have a shower instead of a bath. Still you went to bed really late.

Day of Tiredness

Dearest Skyler,

We'd hoped to get to church yet again but we were just too tired. Sigh ... Mama was in lots of pain as well. Sigh ...

Thus, we did our usual of waking up late. We had a bit of breakfast before going back to bed again.

After we got up, we had some leftovers for lunch. We then played a bit, read a bit, watched a bit of TV. We also took out your old stroller to see if Mei-mei will be able to use it and you took the opportunity to sit in it and you got Papa to push you around the flat. You were so cute. It really brought back memories for both of us. :D

We then went back to bed once more.

In the evening, Papa brought you out to get dinner. It was a fairly quick trip as we had pre-ordered via telephone. We drove out, picked up the food that was waiting for us and got home.

We then had our dinner before you had your bath. Papa spent some time massaging Mama and you wanted to massage her as well. :D You're such a sweet girl, Lil' One. :D

We got you to bed soon after as it was already late. Sigh ... If people knew what your usual bedtime is, they'll faint. It's so difficult to get you to bed. But it's also our fault - we want to spend time with you too.

Night Out

Dearest Skyler,

Papa brought you out to the market to buy breakfast this morning. You always enjoy these short trips out. And you always insist on helping to pay the stallholders. :D

In the evening, we brought Mama to her friend's place for a visit. She had a golden retriever.

After letting Mama out, Papa brought you to have dinner with Grandma; where once again you did your usual. :D

After dinner, we went back to get Mama. When we arrived there, you said “Hi!” to the big doggie. You’re getting braver with these animals, Lil’ One. We just hope that you still maintain a healthy respect for these creatures as some of them may bite. :p

After picking Mama up, we went to the East Coast Park. By the time we got there, we found that it was the tail end of a family carnival. Mama got some dinner for herself. While Mama ate, we saw paddle boats, jumping balloon platform and a Mini Viking boat. As a finale of the event, they set off small fireworks. It was very short but fun as usual as long as it lasted. :D

We then set off for home!

Han's Dinner

Dearest Skyler,

We went to Han's for a quick dinner today. The Han’s people must really be wondering if their food is really so good that our family keeps on coming back to eat it. :p But we must readily admit that the food is not too bad and it is convenient and focused eating as there isn’t really that much to do in this area except eat. :p

The rest of the day had passed by as usual with nothing really worthy of special mention.

Distractions

Dearest Skyler,

You woke Mama up to look for Papa while he was preparing to cook your lunch and get ready to go to work. Thus, Papa had to prepare your Milo and change your diaper as well before he could go. :p

You had to watch a bit of TV before allowing Mama to go back to bed. After you all woke up, you wanted to watch the ‘Todd World’ episode where the centipede was sad, entitled 'Shoe In'. While Mama was looking for it, you caught a snippet of Barney and wanted to watch that instead. After it was over, Mama declared that it was bed time and you obligingly started walking to the bedroom. On the way there, you suddenly remembered that you wanted to watch “centipede sad”! You asked Mama to let you watch it before you napped but she refused as you'd already watched Barney. :p

Papa came back in the early evening and you asked Papa to buy a waffle on his way back. Once Papa stepped into the flat, you asked if Papa had bought the waffle. You're so cute! :D

After eating the waffle, we went to have a nap. After getting up, we headed to Han's for dinner.

At dinner, you were a bit more cooperative in that you allowed Papa to finish his dinner before sitting on his lap. :D

Green Eggs & Ham

Dearest Skyler,

Mama read ‘Green Eggs and Ham’ to you today. The book had been Mama's Christmas gift to Papa in 1996!

Mama had drawn a couple of snowmen. You named them Papa Snowman and Mama Snowman and asked where Baby Snowman was! :D

You spent the day reading and watching TV and playing with your toys. And as today was the first day Papa'd gone back to work, you kept on watching out for him ... You brought his slippers to the door so that he could put them on when he came back. And you wanted Mama to keep some of the porridge that Papa had prepared for your lunch for him. You even wanted Papa to come nap with you when he got back. You're such a sweet girl, Lil' One. :D

Papa came back in the evening and you immediately asked him for bathtub. So, Papa prepared it for you and you had your bath. Mama and you then had the rest of the porridge for dinner.

Papa and Mama then spent a bit of time playing with you and watched a bit of TV as well. Just before bed, you asked Mama to read you ‘Green Eggs and Ham’ once more.

Errand Run

Dearest Skyler,

We got up a bit later in the day and went over to the Point for a dim sum lunch.

After lunch we walked around a bit to get some stuff and you, of course, wanted to hop into every ride we came across. We told you not to suck your thumb until we got home but you disobeyed us! We are quite worried about you picking up germs and falling ill.

After we got home, we refused to let you watch TV. You were only allowed to play with your toys or read your books. Soon after we all went to bed as we were still sleepy.

After we got up, we drove down to the children's hospital to get a refund of some money as a store had over-charged us for a toy that we'd bought. It was quite fuss-free as the store people had been informed that we were coming.

After collecting our money, we had dinner at the foodcourt before going to pick up Papa's convocation gown from the photo studio. The place was really difficult to get to. Sigh … Quite scary too as it was dark and there were so many nooks and crannies.

You were so shy there! The sales person kept on trying to talk to you but you kept on looking at the floor! :p But when she was further away, you would run around and play! You so wanted to try on Papa's mortarboard! :D It was way too big for you but you looked so cute!

We then headed home and prepared for bed.

Papa and Mama are Still Ill

Dearest Skyler,

Papa was supposed to go work today but Papa was still feeling very ill. Papa's throat was still hurting and Papa had been coughing throughout the night. So, Papa had to take another day of rest.

After we got up, we had our breakfast before heading to the doctor who gave Papa two days of medical leave. We then bought lunch and headed home

After we got home you wanted your bathtub again before lunch. After lunch, we headed back to bed for a nap.

We got up in the evening and headed to the Point for a spaghetti dinner. We then shopped around a bit before heading home.

You insisted on having your bathtub yet again! We then packed our bags for when Baby Mei-mei comes.

Papa & Mama are Sick

Dearest Skyler,

We really wanted to get to church today as we'd not gone the whole of Papa's holiday but it was not meant to be. Papa was still very tired and Mama had started feeling unwell too.

We got up when the alarm had gone off and you demanded that we get up so that you could continue watching TV but we refused to give in to your apparent addiction. We insisted that you have breakfast first and did other things before we let you watch a bit of TV before we went back to bed.

After we got up, we went to buy groceries and lunch AND dinner. After we got back, we had our food then went back for another nap.

We had our dinner after we got up. While we were eating, you did your usual of walking around before you insisted on having your bath. You ate a bit after your bath. You then declared it was bed time so we all went to bed as we were not feeling well anyway and we wanted to rest.

Lil' One, your vocabulary is just increasing so quickly. Today, among other phrases, you said 'Junior Asparagus', a character from Veggie Tales! That name has so many syllables and you got it absolutely right! :D Well done!

Fun Time

Dearest Skyler,

We woke up a bit earlier in the morning, had our breakfast and went back to bed.

We got up again soon after and headed off to Bubu and Moh-moh's. We had asked them to care for you this afternoon as Mama and Papa were attending the Basic Resuscitation for Kids course. We were very late already. We asked Bubu and Moh-moh to come downstairs to get you so that we could dash off.

You had so much fun there! Bubu and Moh-moh brought you to the playground and you enjoyed yourself on the slide. In their flat, you played with Big Bear and the other toys. You also brought Bubu on the 'motorbike' (his exercise bench) to different places.

You also made all kinds of demands about your milk which Bubu tried his best to cater to. :p

Mama and Papa came to pick you up after that. We then brought Mama to Ikea before Papa and you headed over to Grandma's for dinner. You were so sleepy by the time we got there. In fact, you were fast asleep! It took you a while to get used to Grandma. You did your usual playing with her coins, jumping on her bed, etc.

After dinner, we went to get Mama and headed home.

Long Car Ride

Dearest Skyler,

Papa was still sick today. Thus, we ended up spending the day sleeping yet again as Papa was so tired.

By the time we were really up, Mama and Papa wanted to eat at Carl's Jr at Big Splash again. By the time we got there, the carpark was too full - there was no place to park so we ordered take away.

We drove all the way to Ikea to eat. We sat on a bench and had our meal there. We then spent time walking around. You had so much fun at the kid's section playing with all the toys and such! :D There was hardly anyone that you had to share the things with as it was quite late by then.

We then walked around a bit. At one stage, you dashed to the set up of a kid's dining table and picked up a drinking cup. Another boy about your size, came and started stacking up the cups even though your finger was still in the one you were holding. When it couldn't go in because of your finger, he stacked the other cups before grabbing your cup out of your hand. Papa was disturbed by how rude that act was. His Mama ambled up pushing a stroller with a younger girl in it. A person who looked like a maid went to him on the opposite side. His Mama told him not to snatch the cup from you but she didn't do anything more. Sigh ... Oh well ... Papa went up to you to get you away.

We headed home soon after paying for some stuff. After we got back to our block, you told us that you wanted to get out of your seat by yourself so we unbuckled your seatbelt and watched you get out of your seat and the car! :D You're such a big girl now! :D

Papa's Very Sick

Dearest Skyler,

Papa was very sick today. Papa's throat hurt very badly and he was very tired. Papa had a headache too. Thus, Papa had to sleep a lot today but while he slept, his throat would dry up and begin hurting badly. Sigh ...

Your own fever had gone down sometime in the night. Thank God!

Anyway, Papa was supposed to have gone to work this morning but the doctor had given Papa medical leave to rest at home. Thus, Papa stayed home to rest.

After we got up from bed again, we ordered some food delivery. We ate a bit of it before heading back to bed once more.

After we got up quite a bit later, we drove to Han's for dinner. You were very restless and ate only a bit.

After dinner, we headed home and prepared for bed.

Papa's Sick

Dearest Skyler,

Papa went to work in the morning. Papa wasn't feeling well but he had things to complete.

By the time Papa came home he was really feeling unwell. On the way home, Papa bought lunch. After lunch Papa went to bed.

You were unwell too. You had a high fever. But you were totally active. :p

Later in the afternoon, you and Mama joined Papa in bed. You woke up soon after though you still had a fever and tried to wake Papa up but Papa was too tired so Mama got up to care for you while Papa continued to sleep.

After Papa got up, Mama asked if Papa wanted to visit the doctor. Papa usually dislikes doing so but Papa was really feeling unwell. Papa's throat was really hurting so Papa said yes.

We drove to see your doctor that Papa also sees now. While we were there, Mama asked the doctor to take your temperature as well. It was 39.1C! Your temperature was even higher than Papa's!

We bought some food for dinner before heading home.

Once Papa had eaten, Papa headed straight for bed and left Mama to care for you. You did your usual things like watching ‘Todd World’ and playing with your things. Mama brought you to bed earlier as you were not well either and you needed to sleep.

Noisy Skyler

Dearest Skyler,

Papa had to go in to work today.

You woke up a bit later in the morning. By the time Papa came home with lunch, you'd gone back to bed. Papa thus joined Mama and you in bed for a nap.

After we got up, we had our lunch. After lunch, we went back to bed for another nap. :p

After we got up again, we got ready to go out. We drove to Raffles City for dinner. We ate at Cafe Cartel as they had lots of bread - one of your favourite food!

You were totally restless during dinner. You kept on walking on the sofa and standing on Papa, etc. Thankfully, Papa and Mama managed to complete dinner!

After dinner, we went to shop for shirts for Papa. You were so noisy when Papa tried on the shirts. You cried and made so much noise! We were surprised that the staff didn't come to investigate! It was so stressful! :(

In the end, Papa managed to get a few shirts. You also went to play with the toys. You were totally okay then. Sigh ...

We went outside where there were seats and gave you your Milo before heading home.

Car Ride

Dearest Skyler,

We woke you up really early today as we had to bring Mama to see the Baby Doctor in the morning. This was worse than usual for you as you'd gone to bed quite late last night and you'd also woken up in the middle of the night.

We drove over to the foodcourt nearby to get some food for Papa and Mama's breakfast before heading to Popo's place to pick up your shirt that we'd forgotten to bring back with us last night. However, Popo'd forgotten to leave the door unchained so Papa couldn't get in. Mama telephoned her but she didn't wake up to answer. Oh well ...

We then went over to the hospital. Mama went to register herself first while Papa and you headed upstairs to pay for a Basic Resuscitation course that we want to attend in case something happens to you or mei-mei. :p

Papa and you then met Mama at the usual place to wait for the doctor. A kor-kor there who was also waiting with his parents was so envious of your squid-squid and lucky bag. :p

After Mama's had seen the doctor, we headed off to buy you some dou-hua. We then went to apply for a room for Mama for when Mei-mei comes. It took some time and you got so restless as you were so sleepy by then.

We headed off for lunch at the Rice Table. You were completely asleep by the time we got there. Papa carried your sleeping form all the way there from the carpark and even after we'd sat down, you were still asleep. We tried to put you on the seats to sleep but you refused to have any of that. You insisted on sleeping on Papa. Thus, Papa had to eat with you on him. Thankfully, you woke up very soon after and Papa could eat without worrying about dropping food on you. :D You had your dou-hua there as well.

After lunch, we drove over to Mama's school as she had to return a few library books. Mama and you waited in the Duckie Mobile while Papa dropped the books off.

We then headed home for a nap. You were so sleepy that you managed to sleep with hardly any fuss. We slept for SO long. By the time we got up, it was late in the evening. Thankfully you'd already had your bath when we got home earlier.

We drove over to Han's for dinner. You ate quite a bit of our food as you were quite hungry by then.

We then headed home and prepared for bed as you were still very tired by the whole day of driving around.

Father's Day

Dearest Skyler,

We woke up late today. As it was Father’s Day today, Mama and you gave Papa his Papa's Day presents. :D

After that, Papa did some laundry. You wanted to help put them up to dry so Papa asked you to put on your slippers which you eagerly did. You’re really so wanting to be helpful around the place. Thank you, Lil' One!

We went to the Point for a dim sum lunch. We did some shopping after that. We couldn't get anything suitable. We had to dash off as you had a gym camp in the afternoon.

Somehow, we got there early enough. This was surprising as we usually just make it on time if not late. :p You spotted Teacher Pearl in there and you got so excited. Teacher Zul was the teacher for the camp. Teacher Pearl came in for a short while to say 'Hi' to you. She also helped you to walk across the uneven bars.

You then did most of the stuff for the camp. It wasn't really anything much today. You had some water and biscuits after the session. You had 3 pieces of biscuits! We don't think you were supposed to have had that many. Oh well… :p

We went over to Mc's after that to get you some food and a Milo. We got you a Happy Meal. You ate half the chicken burger, a bit of corn and some Milo. We think that that will be your staple when we eat there as you get corn and Milo! :p

After that, we went over to the Toys R Us to walk around. Mama got you a couple of Lucky Bags. What will be in them? :p

We headed to Gong-gong and Popo's for dinner as we were celebrating Father's Day with Gong-gong as well. We gave Gong-gong his presents too. You had a blast of a time as usual there playing with everyone and everything. :D

Sleepy Day

Dearest Skyler,

We woke up really late and even so, we still went back to bed only waking up in the late afternoon.

You spent a bit of time pretending to repair your skate scooter this morning. It was so funny! You took out all your medical kit and started using all the implements and went through your skate scooter parts. :D

We went to the Point for a very late lunch at the foodcourt before we went shopping – we bought you a new fan for your room. We also bought some clothes for Gong-Gong for Father's Day. We then got you a Milo from Mc's before we headed to Grandma's for dinner.

You were so full by then you didn't eat anything. You tried to get comfortable while we ate. After dinner we went to Grandma's flat for a short visit before heading home.

Red Star

Dearest Skyler,

We woke up early before going back to bed – this seems to be our routine. :D

After we got up, we drove to Red Star restaurant for a dim sum lunch. Mama had frequented this place when she was growing up and we wanted to revisit it for old time’s sake. :p You made Milo by yourself while we were there!

We then drove to the nearby ang ku kueh shop to get a few ang ku kueh. We really like the ones that they make here. In fact, this was the place where we bought the ang ku kueh to distribute to our family and friends in celebration of your first month. :D

We then drove over to Plaza Singapura to shop. We bought some stuff at John Little’s before dropping by several other stores.

We then went to Swensen's for a drink! You asked for a wafer cone. You actually pointed out the cone from the kids' menu! It was part of a clown but instead of wanting the clown shaped ice cream, you only wanted the cone! At the exit, you asked for a balloon. Mama asked you to ask the manager uncle who gave you the whole bundle of 4 balloons! He also gave you some colouring sheets and pencils.

We went to Carl's Jr for dinner.

We then looked at fish shop in the basement before we stopped over at Carrefour. There, we came face to face with a giant Duracell Bunny – well, actually, it was someone dressed in the bunny suit. You were so intrigued by this that you insisted on following the bunny throughout the shop. We even had an instant Polaroid photo taken with it. Papa still can’t figure out what the fascination was that you had for this. :p We really had to bring you around the shop to tail him. :p

We came home after that.

Slow Day

Dearest Skyler,

We decided to take things slow today, Lil’ One.

After we got up, Mama and you did some finger painting. You are so happy when you do some art work. :D

We then went to The Point where we had a dim sum. After lunch, we went shopping for a mattress for the pull out bed in your room. We then stopped by Swensen's for some ice cream before carrying on shopping.

We then headed home for a nap and spent the rest of the day really really slowly. :D

Sea Shells

Dearest Skyler,

Papa experienced a typical Skyler day: we woke up at mid morning, had breakfast, went back to bed for a nap and woke up mid afternoon.

After we got ready, we drove to East Coast Park. We had lunch at dinner time at Carl's Jr. We were so stuffed as the burgers were huge!

We took a walk on the sand to collect shells. We spotted holes that we think were made by crabs. You wanted to see the crabs. Papa dug up a hole to see how far down it went. It was very deep!

We then headed to Parkway Parade. We tried to look for a pair of sports shoes for Papa. You also tried on Papa's shoes. :D

We got you a Milo before heading home at a stall outside the building next to the fountain which you of course needed to visit.

After we got to bed, you asked to sleep in your own room instead. And you wanted Papa to join you. And you insisted on squeezing with Papa on a single bed!

Busy Day

Dearest Skyler,

We woke up very early this morning as we'd asked a couple of aunties to come help us do housework. They washed our floor and bathrooms and ironed Papa's work clothes. They were very quick! :D

After they'd left, another auntie came to let us have a cord blood kit that we will use for Baby Mei-mei when she comes. We'd done the same for you. We store your cord blood in case we need it when you're older. We pray that we'll never use it but it's insurance.

We went back for a nap after she left.

After we got up, we headed to Ngee Ann City for a late lunch. We went for our lunch/dinner at Sushi Tei. You ate a bit of our food and also had your own Milo.

After that we went shopping. Mama wanted to buy Papa some new swimming attire but Papa didn't like what they had. :(

We came home after that and spent the evening at home packing up in preparation for our not being able to do so when Baby Mei-mei comes as we'll be too busy. By the time we got you to bed, it was really late!

House Work

Dearest Skyler,

We woke up in the morning and had breakfast. We then went back to bed for your mid-morning nap.

After we got up, Papa went to buy lunch. You wanted to come along but you wanted to watch Todd's World as well.

Nothing much else happened today. We stayed at home to do some house work and you insisted on helping wherever you could. :D Thanks for being such a great little helper.

We also played with soap bubbles for a while before we cleared up stuff in your room.

At night, we drove over to Han’s for dinner before coming back and hitting the sack.

Oh! You also taken to putting on our clothes, Lil’ One though there’s no way you can fit into them! :D

Holiday 2

Dearest Skyler,

We got up fairly early today. Mama was feeling cold. The aircon was turned off but the cold in the building still seeped in.

When we were awake enough, we went out to Marina Square for breakfast. We walked around before deciding on Swensen's. It was a mistake. :p The food was quite bad tasting. :( Oh well ... You were still quite sleepy so you weren't really all that interested in eating. But the manageress aunty was very nice - she gave you a balloon and a poodle balloon sculpture. :D

We picked up a bit more food on our walk back to the hotel.

After we got back, we caught a nap as all of us were very sleepy still.

You woke us up asking for another bath tub experience. Thus, we all got up and prepared the bath for you.

After the bath, we had some food then we checked out.

It was a very pleasant experience all in all. You seemed to have enjoyed yourself. :D

We drove over to Suntec City after that. Mama went for a haircut. Papa and you walked Mama to the salon before we went to visit the bunnies and fish. We bought a packet of fish food as you wanted to feed them but there were so many people feeding the fish that they weren't interested in eating at all! Papa didn't want to waste any more food as there was lots floating into the drainage. Thus, we kept the rest of your food so that we can feed other fish that need it another time.

After that, you wanted to visit the fountain. We went there and they were allowing people to touch the water so Papa let you do that. We had to wash our hands immediately after that. Papa wanted to bring you for Milo but you wanted to tell Mama that you'd touched the water so we went back to the salon. After you'd told Mama about it, we went back down to get a cup of Milo. We went to the KFC first as it was emptier but the whole place smelled of the food so we went to McDonald's but it was so crowded that there wasn't a place to sit so we ended up at Burger King.

After we got our Milo, Papa let you drink it but you weren't really interested. You wanted food instead but there wasn't anything that you could eat. Then, you wanted a crown so Papa got you one. After fitting it on you, you wanted to show Mama so we went all the way back to the salon once more. Mama gave you a packet of biscuits to eat.

After we'd shown Mama your crown, we headed up to the Kids' Zone to take a look. They were having some animal related activities. They had a few fish tanks and some cages with bunnies, hamsters and mice.

We tried to look for the free popcorn, candy floss and balloons. They'd moved the stalls to another place. When we found them you didn't want anything except a balloon. So, we got you the blue one you wanted.

We then went to look for a place for you to sit down to have the biscuits that Mama'd given you. There was a space on a bench so we sat there to eat.

Papa was so happy to see the bench! You'd refused to walk on your own since we got to Suntec! Papa'd been carrying you almost the whole time we'd been there! Papa's back and shoulders were totally aching by then!

After having the biscuits, we went back to the salon once more to check on Mama's progress. Mama was almost done by then. We waited for her to be done so we could go off together.

We headed back to our car to get the skatescooter that we'd bought so that we could exchange it. It was not working well as the wheels were not turning smoothly.

We then shopped in Carrefour for stuff for Baby Mei-mei. You'd fallen asleep by then. Thus, Papa had to carry you while Mama shopped. Papa was really tired by then as Papa had carried you for so long.

After we'd paid for our purchases, we went to take a look at the cars they had on show at the atrium. Then we headed back to our car to get to Popo's for dinner.

We met Bubu and Moh-moh there too. And Gong-gong is still in Singapore. You had lots of fun playing with them all.

And when we left, you had your usual ride around the carpark in Bubu's car.

By the time we got home, you'd fallen asleep as it'd been a long and tiring day. And by the time we put you to bed after washing up, it was way past midnight. Oh well ...

Holiday

Dearest Skyler,

Today, we had a dim sum lunch at the Point.

After lunch, we quickly drove down and checked in at the Ritz Carlton Millennia Singapore. The nice hotel staff gave us a complimentary upgrade to a Harbour View room. This is a preferred room as we have a nicer view of the Marina Bay area. :p The only problem was the construction work that was going on. :p We got to the room just in time to catch the start of the National Day Parade Rehearsal!

You were so excited by the hotel room that you jumped on the bed! You had so much fun doing that! :D

Papa and Mama took an afternoon nap. You'd initially told us that it was nap time but when we were ready, you didn't want to nap. You stayed awake and entertained yourself. You brought Papa's watch over and put it in the bedside drawer. You also put Papa's phone and coins there. :D

After we got up, we had a bath in the bathtub. When we were done, we headed off to Marina Square for dinner.

We had dinner at Kenny Rogers Roasters as you wanted to have some corn. You ate quite a bit of the corn and chicken and had a taste of all the other side dishes.

During the meal, you wanted some Milo so Papa asked the waiter for some water but he said that they had no warm water. They could give hot water only or else we had to buy bottled water. He even offered tap water to us to make your Milo. As all these options were not appealing, Papa went out to another store to get warm water for you.

After Papa had gone off, you just walked off after Papa even though you had no idea where Papa had gone. Mama tried to stop you but you ignored Mama! You struggled with Mama to walk out. You couldn't find Papa as you'd headed off in the wrong direction. Mama was so worried about you as you could have gotten lost if she'd not followed you.

Papa appreciates that you wanted to be with Papa but you cannot just walk off like that. And you must always listen to Mama and Papa!

After dinner, we shopped around a bit before heading back to the hotel room. We took a few photos in the lobby before coming up.

You so totally still love climbing stairs. Everytime we come across stairs, you'd insist on climbing them!

The rehearsal at the Marina Bay was still going on when we got back to the room! So poor thing!

You got up at noon today. You must have been quite tired out. :p After getting up, you wanted to watch Todd's World. After that, Mama and you went back to have a nap.

Papa came home in the evening. Papa had brought dinner home.

After dinner, you wanted to have your bath so we bathed you. You're still totally into showering yourself. Oh well … a bath is more soothing. :p

We then assembled your book shelf that we'd bought from Ikea on Wednesday. Now, you have an actual bookshelf, Lil’ One.

We then got you to go to bed a bit earlier.

Papa & Mama's Wedding Anniversary

Dearest Skyler,

You were a very good girl over night. We'd put a plaster on your thumb and asked you to not suck it while you slept. You managed to sleep through the night without sucking your thumb! Well done!

Today's Mama and Papa's 9th Wedding Anniversary, Lil' One. Your parents have been married for 9 years! How about that? :D

We got up not too late in the morning and prepared to go out. We'd made reservations at an Indonesian restaurant that served an ala carte buffet. The food is good and so is the ambience usually. :D This was the first time you were eating there.

You didn't like the food though. We'd tried to get you the non-spicy stuff but there weren’t many of such dishes. You ate a bit of food but suddenly you spat out what you had in your mouth. You refused to eat anymore after that. :p

After lunch we walked around Isetan. We did a bit of shopping before we left for home to catch a nap.

After we got up, we went to Raffles City for dinner at Cedele. We had a sandwich, some soup a and a salad. After dinner, we visited the fountain – your favourite activity - and we had some ice cream as well.

When we were done, we headed home to sleep.

Thumb Sucking

Dearest Skyler,

You woke up a bit later today. Actually, you did wake up early but as Mama was still sleeping, you went back to sleep so that Mama could rest longer. Thus, you only got out of bed at about 11.

You both had a bit of breakfast and after a couple of hours of watching TV and playing with your toys, you both went back to bed for a nap.

Papa came back in the afternoon and we all went out.

First, we dropped off at a cordless telephone service centre to have our phone checked. The phone batteries were not being charged so we were wondering why. Papa had gone alone leaving Mama and you in the car. You got bored and demanded to be let out so Mama brought you to look at things. Mama taught you the names of the parts of our car! :D And the types of trees that were around. :D

After that, we headed to Grandma's. We had dinner at the nearby coffeeshop. You started drumming on the table. Papa chided you for ignoring us when we told you to stop touching the table. You must learn to obey, okay? The table was so dirty and you still suck your thumb! This's probably why you get diarrhoea!

After we left Grandma's' we dropped by Ikea where we bought a bookshelf and a chest of drawers for your room.

On the way home, we stopped by a nearby condominium project to take a look at the showroom and we also walked past the swimming pools to have a look as well. :D

In-House Fun

Dearest Skyler,

Papa had to work today until late in the evening so Mama and you spent the whole day together at home.

Both of you did lots together. You played with your scooter, read books, etc. You also played with your play-doh and made a snowman and a panorama of a sun, clouds, a tree, bunnies and apples.

You had diarrhoea today. You already began to show signs of having it last night but it really became bad today. You were totally fine though. You were all bubbly and active so it was not so worrying for us.

Papa came home really late and brought you out to get some dinner for Mama at the nearby coffeeshop. We picked up quite a number of things very quickly as you were so cooperative. :D

We headed home and went to bed soon after.

Skate Scooter

Dearest Skyler,

You woke up at 4 plus in the morning and told Papa that there were no more stars in the sky. :p Of course you were actually saying that it was morning and thus you wanted to play with your skate scooter but you fell back asleep almost immediately. :p

Later in the morning, you woke up again and asked Mama if you could ride your skate scooter. Mama wanted you to sleep a bit more so she told you that you could but later and again you went back to sleep immediately. :D

It was only much later that you woke up once more to play with the scooter. You were so excited! You went all around the flat on it. :D

But soon after, you got all sleepy again and went back for a nap.

Papa came home in the evening. Papa had a backache so he had to lie down for a while. You were such a considerate girl! You played very quietly so that Papa could rest.

We then drove down to Han's for dinner. You'd fallen asleep in the car by the time we got there.

You then slept on Papa throughout dinner. You only woke up at the end of dinner. Papa had kept a bit of sandwich for you so you took a few bites of it before drinking your Milo.

You didn't want to go home after dinner so we took a walk around the estate. We saw so many different types of plants, etc. It was so interesting. We then headed back to the car but you still didn't want to get into the car until Papa gave you the blue bear to play with.

Still, you didn't want to go home so we dropped by the nearby park for a very short walk. As Papa and Mama needed to go home, we left very soon. We'll bring you back another day, ok?

You were more compliant today as far as preparing for bed was concerned though you still insisted on going through your routines. Papa really wonders what you think when we pretend to watch TV in the bedroom though. You also insisted on drinking more Milo than usual as you were hungry. You'd hardly eaten anything solid today.

Lazy Day

Dearest Skyler,

You woke us up fairly early today but we didn't want to wake up so we ignored you until you went back to sleep. But it didn't work for long as you couldn't go back to sleep so you woke us again. We thus gave in and got out of bed to spend time with you and have breakfast.

After a while of being awake and having had breakfast, we all headed back to bed for a nap. Again you woke us up and we all got out of bed. We were still very tired. It must have been because of the long day we had yesterday! :p

Thus, we had some food that was in our fridge for lunch before we headed back to bed once more for yet another nap.

This time, you really didn't want to nap. You kept on trying to wake us up but we just couldn't. So sorry, Lil' One! You thus ended up playing by yourself. :p You did try to nap but you couldn't stay asleep for long.

By the time you got us up, it was late afternoon. :p We were still sluggish so it took us some time to really get up.

In the evening, we drove down to Suntec City. You so wanted to carry your Hello Kitty backpack that we'd gotten last night that you insisted on bringing it along.

Once we got there, we visited the fountain. You so enjoy watching fountains in action. :D

We had dinner at Kenny Rogers Roasters. We had chicken, corn and beans - some of your favourites! You are so good with a spoon now that we just scooped some of everything into a bowl for you and you fed yourself. :D

After that we went to the Toys R Us for a short while. You still enjoy playing with the balls that they sell. You also played with whatever toys you could reach. :D

Papa then brought you for a cup of Milo at KFC. You very quickly drank most of it. You really enjoy this drink, don't you?

After we were done, we went to Carrefour to meet up with Mama. We bought you a skate scooter. You'd enjoyed the one at our Aunty Chris’s place so we decided to get you one. We guess it reminds you of Elly's scooter from Pocoyo.

We then bought other groceries before heading off.

They had a spin-the-wheel game where they gave away discount coupons. Papa did the spinning but when you saw that, you wanted to spin too. So, Papa waited until there wasn't anyone in the queue before asking the che-che in charge if you could spin it and she allowed you. You gave it a spin and were so happy that you'd tried it that you reported it to Mama. :D

It's so funny! You've been recounting events and things to us that happen to you even when we were participants of in them. :D

You were also very cute carrying the Hello Kitty bag everywhere. It just barely suits your frame. But you look so sweet carrying it. :D

You were so sleepy by then that you slept in the car all the way home. We were hoping that we could persuade you to have just a shower as it was late but you insisted on having a bath. Oh well...

After your bath, you wanted to try out your skate scooter but we didn't want you to do that and this started a marathon session of distress. You cried and cried continuously for more than an hour trying to get us to give in but we refused. It was heart breaking for us to see you in such a state but you have to learn that there is a proper time for things. We had to hug and carry and cuddle you before you calmed down enough to fall asleep. We distracted you with other activities as well. :p

Family Day

Dearest Skyler,

At 3 am, you came out to the living room to look for us while carrying all our slippers including your own AND Baby Bear! How did you manage that! :D

Every time you show such concern about our putting on our slippers and your carrying them around you melt our hearts! :D

You've become very concerned about our slippers! You'll ensure that we have them on and when we go to bed, you'd arrange them nicely together. :D

It was Papa's work place's Family Day at Singapore Discovery Centre today. We decided to see if the long pants we'd bought some time ago could fit you and yes - it finally does! You look so grown up in it! And it makes you look taller than you are! :D

We managed to get there as they were distributing lunch. Initially, as it was raining, Papa thought that he would collect the food and we could go somewhere to eat so Mama and you needn't go under the rain albeit with an umbrella. However, Mama read from the flyers they'd pasted up that they had several things going on there that she brought you along. Thus, while Papa was queuing for the food, Mama and you queued for a balloon sculpture. The lady balloon person made a butterfly for you. However, the balloon wasn't very good. It exploded when put down on our bag while we were getting ready to eat.

While we were eating, we could watch some of the older kids trying out the mechanical bull riding. It was fairly challenging but most of the kor-kors managed to hang on for some time.

They also had some other activities that we observed before heading off to the main area.

At the main area, we queued to play a couple of games. At one of them, we had to throw a plastic fried egg onto a frying pan. It seemed quite impossible to do as not only did we have to have the egg land in the pan, it had to stay on it. To make things worse, the pan handle was attached to a spring which made the pan bounce quite vigorously when the egg landed in it thus making it bounce out. While we were there, we didn't see a single person succeed. Oh well ... they always say we can never trust carnival people. :p

We tried to get you to throw the egg and the che-che who was running the stall allowed you to walk all the way (on the table) close to the pan which had been attached to another table. You threw the egg but it didn't go very far as you are still learning how to throw. After that first throw, you didn't want to throw anymore. We tried to encourage you but you didn't so Papa took over. Papa didn't succeed in landing the egg. :p

While we'd been in the queue for the egg throwing game, you'd noticed the stall next to it where we had to land rings around plastic toy dinosaurs. You said that you wanted to try it so we queued for that too. However, when it came to our turn, you didn't dare throw the rings. Thus Papa had to do it. No success here either. :p

We then got a couple of red bean popsicles before Mama brought you to have a glitter tattoo done on your arm back at the lunch area. Mama had gone ahead as Papa had spotted that we'd won a lucky draw prize and he wanted to collect it first.

Mama brought you there and as the tattoo people had not appeared, you both waited in the queue for dough sculptures. The queue never moved! When the tattoo people came, we went to queue for that instead. We had them do a snowflake for you. :D

We then went to the Army Museum to walk around. They had a few toy tanks that could be ridden and you wanted to give it a try. You had to wait patiently until the bigger boys got off one of them. A nice aunty told her son to get off so you could ride. Thank you, Aunty!

Initially, Papa helped you to get around as you had to step on a pedal to get it to move and push and pull on levers to steer. Mama then suggested that we let you move on your own and you did so well! You moved forward, reversed, went left and right. Well done! :D

In the museum proper, you touched a real helicopter they had in the Object Theatre. There was supposed to be a video clip that we could watch but it was very loud so we left as you didn't like it. They did try to create some effects like having wind blow down on us when the video showed a helicopter flying overhead, etc. But all these just made you nervous.

We had to leave the theatre and we walked around the exhibits. Unfortunately, these weren't very interesting. :(

You fell asleep on the way back to the Discovery Centre. We decided to sit and wait for the lucky draw to be over. You slept through it. Lots of people had put their bags on the chairs even though lots of parents were carrying sleeping toddlers in their arms. This was very inconsiderate of them. The floor was clean enough to have put their bags there. Oh well!

As Mama was really tired, we asked one of the groups of people if they would let us have a chair and they did. And as Papa was still carrying you, we asked another group to free up a chair so that Papa sit down while you slept on Papa's lap.

You continued to sleep after everyone had left after the lucky draw when it'd ended. We were waiting to watch the iWerks 3D show on Sharks.

After you got up, Papa and you went to look for Mama. Mama was making a Bunga Mangga (Malay for Mango Flower) - a stick with crepe paper wrapped around it. It looked like a flower decoration. People use it for decoration during celebrations. Later on Mama made a rangoli (colourful decorative design made with ccoloured sand) on a paper plate for you.

We then walked around the exhibits in the Discovery Centre. It was ironical - this was supposed to be the main attraction but we only got to it last. We saw Little George the robot among other things. Sad to say, the place was a disappointment. The exhibits were quite unattractive.

We then headed to the theatre to wait for the Sharks movie to begin. We were issued 3D spectacles which we had to put on to enjoy the 3D effect. You did so for a while. Papa wondered for a while if you could appreciate the effect. This curiosity was put to rest when you reached out to try to touch the jellyfish. :D But you got a bit uncomfortable with it all after a while and repeatedly asked to leave the theatre but we wanted to stay to watch the rest of the show. You then removed your spectacles and avoided watching the rest of the movie.

We left after the end of the movie and spotted a jet fighter parked on the lawn next to the exit so we went to look at it close up and as usual, you wanted to touch it. :D

We then headed to Han's for dinner.

After we'd parked our car at home, we walked over to the pasar malam. We bought you a Hello Kitty backpack as you'd been asking for a bag of your own.

After that, we came home. You were so tired you were the one who declared that it was bedtime. But you still tried to do all sorts of things to drag out the going to bed process. :p

Long Nap

Dearest Skyler,

You had a very long afternoon nap today, Lil' One - 3 hours! You must have been so tired!

Mama made a new telescope for you today. You'd been wanting one. It's quite cute seeing you use it. :D

We were invited to dinner at Uncle James and Aunty Christine’s. You so wanted to play with Dawn and their toys that you weren't interested in eating but you managed to eat most of your dinner with lots of persuasion. :p Kor-kor Luke and Che-che Joan had gone out and came back after we'd completed our meal so you got to play with them too. You got to play with their hamsters - you were so eager to carry the hamsters and kept on asking to hold them. :D You also kept on trying to play with Dawn by asking her to help you with stuff. :D You so want to play with others. Well, you can play with Baby Mei-mei soon. :D

After we got home, it was time for your bath and you showered yourself! You wanted to do it by yourself so Papa handed you the shower head and you totally managed to rinse the soap off yourself! Well done, Lil' One! :D You're so growing up! :D

Today also saw you having your own new pillow and bolster. Hopefully you'll get used to them. :p

Day of Free Rides

Dearest Skyler,

You tried to wake us up this morning but Papa refused to so you went back to sleep. :p

After we did finally get up, we went to the Point for a dim sum lunch. We had our usual items and you ate most of it. But they'd run out of egg tarts so we had to go to the bakery to get it. Good thing they don't insist on our not eating food bought elsewhere on their premises.

While we were walking around, you got onto one of the kiddie rides. A nice Aunty gave you a kiddie ride with her one year old son. It was quite tragic/funny as you'd actually been afraid of the boy initially. His Mama had put him onto the seat next to you and you scrambled to get out. But you agreed to share the seat with him when Papa asked you to. The Aunty was all ready to not let her boy disturb you but when she knew that you were okay, she put him back in with you. And before we knew it, the Aunty had dropped a coin in and the ride started up. You looked nervous throughout the ride but you were okay with sharing the ride. :D You got a free ride! Turned out to the first for the day.

We then walked around the furniture store where you wanted to sleep! You were actually still quite sleepy. Poor Baby Girl!

After that we walked around the book store and bought some acrylic paint for you so that you could do some painting. We got a few tubes comprising the primary colours so that you could mix and match them.

As we were all sleepy by then, we came home for a nap. However, you refused to nap. Papa had to spend a bit of time with you after you persistently tried to get him up. But Papa still caught a few winks.

Later in the evening, we drove to IMM for dinner. We were looking for a ceiling fan for your room.

We had some yummy fish that we like before we walked around. Along the way, we spotted the animal rides that you like - the ones where you could sit astride it and 'drive' it around. You asked to sit on it after we'd completed our circuit of the shops. Thus, we brought you back there for a ride.

To our surprise, Papa's former student was running it. You ended up with a free ride as she refused to accept money from Papa. Mama sat on the ride with you as it was too big for you still. You insisted on the Panda so we waited for it to be available. After the ride ended, you wanted to ride another one but it was time to do other things so we thanked the nice che-che and headed off.

We got to the ground floor and Mama did some shopping. While she was in the stores, you insisted on visiting the giant bug display that they had. It was not open yet but they had a giant Rhinoceros beetle and ants. You kept on wanting to look at them. Everytime you saw that Mama had not gotten what she wanted, you would insist on going back out to look at them. This happened several times! You only stopped when Mama had chosen something and we could go.

We went into the Giant department store and bought longans as you liked them the last time. We were a bit disgusted with a few men who were standing around eating the lychees and leaving the shells lying around. There were signs there that stated that eating the goods was not allowed but they paid it no attention. It wouldn't have been as bad if they'd thrown away the shells properly but they just chucked them back - including the seeds they'd spit out! Yuck!

By the time we got home we could only get to bed past midnight.

North Point

Dearest Skyler,

Papa had to attend a conference today so Mama and you spent the day together without Papa.

You took the opportunity to catch up on your sleep. You went back for two naps today. :D

In the late afternoon, Papa came home and wanted to nap but you wanted Papa to play with you. In the end, Mama distracted you by putting together the helicopter model while Papa napped.

We went down to Northpoint for dinner in the evening. We ate at the Sakae Sushi where you had many spoonfuls of rice. :D

We then shopped around a bit. At one of the shops, they gave us a bottle of water and you kept on practising drinking from the bottle and screwing the cap on and off. You kept on doing it again and again. :D

We then went to Swensen's for a drink before we headed home. You still kept on practising drinking from your bottle there. :D Is this the only way to get you to drink water?

You really enjoy going out, don't you? :D

Haircut

Dearest Skyler,

You woke us up at 9 plus today. We all got up and had breakfast before we headed back to bed a couple of hours later.

After you got up, we cleared up a bit around the flat before we headed over to the Point for lunch. We ate at the foodcourt on the 7th floor.

After lunch, Papa had his haircut and Mama and you stood there to watch. Then it was your turn to have your fringe trimmed by Uncle Alvin, your hairdresser. You're such a pro at getting your hair trimmed now.

We shopped around a bit after that. We bought shirts for Baby Mei-mei and two new pairs of sandals for you. We walked around a bit more and you became so sleepy. You'd not really caught up with your sleep, Lil’ One. :(

You fell asleep once we got into the car. We went to Han's once again for dinner.

You slept through dinner once again. Poor Lil' Darling! So sorry that our schedule can't match your nap times. :(

We came home after dinner and Mama and Papa started clearing up around the flat. We're hoping that that place will be neater by the time Mei-mei comes. :p

You got bored watching TV and came to look for us to play with you. We ended up playing Giant Pickle where we were chasing each other around the place! You enjoyed yourself so much! :D

Wake Up, Bunny

Dearest Skyler,

We woke you up at 6 plus to dash you off to Bubu and Moh-moh's this morning. Papa had to go for a meeting and Mama had a doctor's appointment with the Baby Doctor.

We got there very early and Moh-moh spent the whole morning playing with you. You both 'visited' a zoo, went shopping, etc. You didn't nap at all! Poor Moh-moh was so tired out by you. :p

Papa came to get you after his meeting and brought you to pick Mama up from the hospital.

After we'd met up with Mama, we drove down to Ngee Ann City for a dim sum lunch. You'd fallen asleep in the car as you had so little sleep and you'd spent so much of the morning playing! We let you nap for a short while after getting there but we had to wake you so that we could get a table before the lunch crowd came.

You ate a bit of food but you were really tired. Still, you were very enthusiastic in exploring the food we'd ordered.

Papa then went for a foot spa. Mama brought you to look at toys at the basement. You spotted an Elmo chair and became so possessive of it. You always kept an eye on it and no matter what Mama tried to show you, you would run back to it. Mama then brought you to look for Papa as you insisted on being carried and Mama can't do it so much as she's pregnant with Mei-mei and it's not safe for her to do so.

By the time you both found Papa, it was Mama's turn to experience the footspa.

Papa brought you to play with the toys in Takashimaya. You seem to be less wary of other kids. There was this big girl who just stuck herself in your place in front of a toy but you ignored her and carried on playing with the toy.

We then went to Best Denki to wait for Mama. While waiting, you got to bowl on the Nintendo Wii set! You scored a Spare with your first frame! :D

We then proceeded to McDonald's to get you a cup of Milo though you were so sleepy! You wanted to have a French Fry but we refused to let you eat such a thing at your age. Papa got you a Hot Fudge sundae instead. :p

We then went to Takashimaya to let Mama shop a bit. You were so naughty! You stood outside the store along the main footpath and refused to come back in! Papa was so angry that you were so disobedient and dangerous.

Papa scolded you and after you apologised, Papa brought you out to walk around. We then went back in and walked around the shelves until Mama was done.

We then headed to the basement to get a Carebear for Moh-moh as she's taken care of you so well. We got her one that we believe she doesn't have but we didn't know its name.

We then headed to Han's for dinner. You were so sleepy that you slept throughout dinner. Papa placed you on the bench and you slept through. You did try to awaken a few times but you couldn't. So poor thing! You'd so little sleep and we kept you out for so long.

We then got home and prepared you for bed. We'd also checked up on the name of the bear - it's Harmony! We hope that Moh-moh will like it. :p You definitely do! You keep on playing with it! You even want to bring it to bed with us! :D

Tired Skyler

Dearest Skyler,

We went to church this morning. We almost didn't because you were so tired yesterday. There is no Sunday School for the next few weeks so you stayed in the main room and played with Che-ches Rebecca and Alyssa. You all drew, ate Pocky biscuits and stuck stickers in a sticker book.

After worship, we walked around a bit before heading off to Suntec City. We had lunch at Kenny Rogers where you had your corn and muffin.

You'd visited the fountain before that. They'd repaired it. We also visited the koi pond, the rabbits and hamsters.

We then shopped for clothes for you. You didn't want to initially but you were enticed by being able to try on clothes.

After getting you some clothes we went to the kids' area and collected a balloon for you from an art centre for kids. We also had a bit of candy floss.

We moved on to shop a bit at Carrefour where we tried to get fruits.

While we were moving around, you fell asleep in Papa's arms. We went to Fish and Co for dinner. You slept throughout in Papa's arms. The manager there was very nice. He gave us a new bowl of soup when he saw that we'd kept soup for you but you didn't get up and it'd become cold.

We came home after dinner. You were still sleepy then.

After we came home, Papa and you went to the swimming pool as you wanted to. There, you kept on walking across the playing pool. Also you loved being pulled across the learning pool. We ended up playing Baby Rabbit and Papa Rabbit. :D

After we came home, we tried to get you to bed as we were going over to Bubu and Moh-moh's early in the morning, however, you had a tummy ache and you couldn't sleep until it had been settled.

What a long and tiring day.

Gong-gong's Back!

Dearest Skyler,

We woke up early this morning which was not good as we had a full day ahead of us. :p Anyway, we had breakfast before we went back to bed.

We woke up again later to leave for your gym session. We got there in time but Mama had to bring you in first as Papa had to look for a place to park.

It was Show Day today so both of us were allowed to be in there with you! You did everything! You're so comfortable with the skills! It's such a great place with a great operational concept! We’re so glad that we got you enrolled here. :D

We then had a cup of Milo before heading for a dim sum lunch. You ate a bit of food. You were a bit restless though.

We then shopped a bit. Papa bought a couple of shirts before we left.

We then came home for a nap. We slept for a long time! All of us were so tired!

After we got up, we intended to have dinner at Han's but Popo called just as we were arriving there and declared that she'd prepared dinner so we had to rush down to her place. There had been some miscommunication about dinner. Oh well ...

Gong-gong was there together with Bubu and Moh-moh. Gong-gong had returned from overseas for a few weeks. You were as thrilled as ever by him. :D

You played with them all before we headed home. We got back a bit late. Oh well ...
