Kangaroos

Dearest Skyler,

You were such a good girl today, Lil' One! You were so obedient! Well done! You did everything Mama asked you to. You stood further away when Mama asked you to when she was preparing lunch, you didn't fuss over things at all! It was generally a pleasant day for both of you. Yay!

Mama brought you to the zoo in the afternoon. This is the last time we can go on the current membership cycle. If we still wish to go, we'll have to renew it, Lil' One.

Though you didn't see many animals, you still had lots of things to do. You visited the kangaroos and wallabies and tapirs and hippos. The Mama and Baby tapirs swam all the way to you to say 'Hi!' :D

At the kangaroo enclosure, you got there too late to feed them. But that didn't stop you from calling out to them to come to you and you told them to “rinse and spit!” :D that's what you do when you brush your teeth! Why're you asking them to do that? :D

You also watched the pygmy hippos swim in their enclosure.

Before you left the zoo, Mama brought you for Milo. You both then came to pick Papa up.

You had fallen asleep in the car by the time you got to Papa.

We went straight to the Point. When we got there, you got up. We had dinner at the ice cream restaurant. You hardly ate though.

We walked around for a while after that. As Mama was looking for books for you, Papa brought you outside to buy stamp to mail a letter. You're so keen on helping us do things, Lil' One. You helped to press buttons on the stamp dispenser. You helped to stick the stamp on the envelope. And you helped to drop the letter into the mailbox. Thank you, Lil' One!

Papa then brought you to look at the pasar malam. They had those small little paddle boats that we tried out at United Square. You wanted to sit in it but there was no way Papa could fit. When you're bigger, you can do it on your own, ok?

We then went back to look for Mama. Then we headed home. You slept quite late tonight. Oh well.

Papa and Mama love you!

Makeup Gym

Dearest Skyler,

You have a nasty practice of pushing your Papa off the bed when you want your milk when you wake, Lil' One! :p Good thing you don't have the strength to successfully do that yet. :p

In the afternoon, Papa brought you for a makeup lesson at the gym as Papa couldn't make it yesterday. This was conducted by Teacher Eunice. You did the usual things today but you were a bit reluctant to perform the skills with the group. Thus, you only did so when the others were not around the equipment. Also, Papa had to do a couple of things first before you would try them. :p

Towards the end of the lesson, you wanted a teacher to assist you. As Teacher Eunice was busy and Teacher Pearl happened to be there preparing for the next class, Papa tried to encourage you to ask the latter for help but you refused and made Papa do it instead. So, Papa approached Teacher Pearl and asked her for help. She kindly came over to help you at the uneven bars. You so didn't need any help. You just wanted their attention. Hmmm... I wonder why. Oh well! But at least you’re not totally shy with your gym teachers. :D

We then went to get you some Milo before heading home to pick Mama up for lunch. You wanted to play at the playground but we couldn't today. Next week, okay?

We went for a Dim Sum lunch as that was what you wanted. We had the usual stuff. When we were done, we asked you to ask for the bill and you went "Aunty! Bill! Aunty! Where are you?" That was so hilarious! :D

We then shopped a bit before picking up spaghetti for dinner. We gave you the receipt to collect our food and you obediently did so. You were so cute standing there offering the che-che the receipt. :D

You were so sleepy cranky by then, poor Lil' Gal. We came home and tried to put you to bed but you refused and insisted on having lots of Milo! It took Papa such a long time to get you to bed.

We then had our spaghetti dinner.

It was quite late before you went to bed.

Papa and Mama love you!

Beachside Dinner

Dearest Skyler,

Papa went to school in the morning. But as you’d awakened early enough, Papa fed you first before leaving.

After work, Papa brought lunch home. After lunch, Papa and Mama tried to nap but you refused. Sigh... :p

We went to the Point for a while after that. It was Mama's turn to get a facial. Papa brought you to the library to return a couple of magazines and borrow a couple of other reading materials. We then went to buy some fruits before heading to the fastfood place for a cup of Milo. We then walked around the department store while waiting for Mama.

After Mama was done, we drove over to the yacht club where we met Bubu and Moh-moh for dinner.

We took turns to bring you to the jetty to look for the doggie there. It was injured! Poor doggie! :(

You ate a bit of food and we also had a birthday cake after the meal. :D We were celebrating Papa’s birthday with them. :D

Bubu gave us a ride in his car after the meal as you always enjoy that.

When we got back to our car, you insisted on sitting in the driver's seat as has been your habit this week. You would raise a ruckus if we didn't allow you. You would touch all the dials and steer a bit and have to ‘park’ the car before we're allowed to put you back in your seat. :p

We headed home after that.

Thank you for celebrating Papa's birthday, Bubu and Moh-moh!

Papa and Mama love you, Lil' One!

Papa's 40th Birthday!

Dearest Skyler,

You had lots and lots of fun playing with Mama today. You're so much less cranky! Hmmm ... Maybe Papa was mistaken ... Maybe you've been cranky because of your cough and not because of the fabled 'Terrible Twos'. :p

Papa came back much earlier this afternoon since it was his birthday.

We drove down to the zoo for a visit. Our membership is expiring soon, Lil' One. Should we renew it?

We had a quick lunch at the fastfood restaurant there as neither Mama nor Papa had had lunch then. You had your Milo and some potato.

We went into the zoo and came out very soon after as it was about to rain. We'd only seen the fish and rays!

We all went to the Point after that. Papa went for a free facial as it he had a birthday voucher. Mama and you went shopping. You were a bit naughty after some time so Mama brought you to wait for Papa.

We then had our dinner at the new western food place. You ate a bit of our food. We had an ice cream after that at the ice cream restaurant. We were so stuffed after that. :D

We then did a bit of shopping before heading home.

Thank you for celebrating Papa's birthday!

Papa and Mama love you!

Chomp Chomp

Dearest Skyler,

Mama and you hung out again the whole day and your behaviour is still very trying. Sigh...

You did some painting and played with your Winnie the Pooh toys!

In the afternoon, Papa came home a bit earlier than usual and we all took a nap.

After we got up, we drove down to Chomp Chomp for dinner. We decided to eat there since we managed to get a table. This was the first time we ate at a hawker centre with you. We've usually avoided eating at places without a high chair as you wouldn't be able to see the tabletop or sit still but you're taller and more able to eat at such places now. :D

We had lots of 'heaty' food but we only gave you porridge as we don't want to be bad parents! :p

After dinner, we headed home.

Papa and Mama love you, Lil' One!

Giant Pickle

Dearest Skyler,

You were still a bit cranky and trying today. You’re probably in the stage that some people call the 'Terrible Twos'. We know you can't help yourself but it doesn't make it easier for us to deal with the behaviour. :p But we'll try to remind ourselves to be patient and understanding, okay? And we'll also pray that this phase passes quickly.

You again watched “Dave and the Giant Pickle” repeatedly today. You've almost memorised the song lyrics and the script for the show! :D

In the evening, we went to the Point for a spaghetti dinner which you ate quite a bit of. You stayed in your chair for most of the meal but after a while, you wanted to stand so we got you out onto the floor. You were still a very good girl as you stayed with us at the table. All you did was walk between us to be fed by both of us.

After dinner, we walked around a bit and Mama bought you a few books that were on sale.

We then went to the supermarket to buy some stuff. You were so cute! Mama introduced some of the vegetables that you see in Vege Tales and you spoke to them - just like in the song ... "If you like to talk to tomatoes..." :D

We came home after that and put you to bed.

Papa and Mama love you!

Medicine

Dearest Skyler,

You were a very naughty girl today. Mama had lots of things to do and you didn't let her do them peacefully. You kept on demanding that Mama cater to you though Mama was busy with preparing food for our meals and so on. Sigh... But you're so cute though! And we'll miss your wanting our attention in the future so we'd better enjoy it now. :p

Mama also took out another toy set that Aunty Lin Lin gave us the last time - a tree house with miniature Winnie the Pooh characters and picnic set. There are so many small parts! You both had so much fun figuring it out.

Papa came home in the evening and we all had the yummy dinner that Mama had prepared. You ate quite a bit before running around in between spoonfuls of dinner.

Later in the evening, you were coughing some more and when we asked if you wanted to see the doctor, you said you did so we did. :p

Papa was totally reluctant to do so as you always refuse to take the medicine and since your cough didn't seem so bad to boot. But Mama wanted to encourage you to view the doctor as a person in the neighbourhood you go to when you're not feeling well so we went.

On the way, you told us that you didn't want to see the doctor but since we were already driving there, Papa didn't turn back.

At the doctor's, you had this totally bemused look on your face when he was checking your breathing and heartbeat with his stethoscope. You were also less fearful. You still need to be more responsive though. The doctor offered you a balloon but you were too shy to choose the one you wanted. Mama helped you to choose. :p We usually will pick pink for you as you seem to like that colour.

We brought you home after that and Mama gave you one of the medicines that had been prescribed, which you took - to Papa's surprise - but you refused to take the next one. Oh well...

You also started playing with the big box that the Winnie the Pooh tree house came in. You put it on over your head and walked around. It was so hilarious! :D You looked like a robot!

Papa and Mama love you!

Cough-Cough

Dearest Skyler,

You have a very bad cough, Lil' One!

You woke up just in time to catch Papa before he left for work this morning. Papa thus gave you your Milo before he left.

You didn't want to go back to bed for quite some time after that. In fact, you didn't want to nap for the rest of the day. You had a couple of short cat naps only. Mama really wanted you to sleep so that you could enough rest to help you recover but it didn't happen.

You ended up watching TV the whole day instead. At least you weren't running around and exerting yourself. :p Mama let you watch a Veggie Tales disc and you so enjoyed it that you watched it repeatedly. :p

You asked for honey and Milo drinks throughout the day but you didn't really drink much of either. Sigh... What a waste...

You also insisted on having a bath and Mama had to prepare it for you though Baby Mei-mei has made it very difficult for her to bend down. Poor Mama!

Papa came home later in the evening and we went out for dinner at the Chinese restaurant at the Point.

Papa and Mama love you!

Easter Sunday

Dearest Skyler,

We went to church for Sunday School today. Today's Easter, or as our church calls it, Resurrection Sunday. This is the day we've set aside to remind ourselves that Jesus rose from the dead thereby demonstrating His victory over death and proving beyond any doubt that He IS the Son of God and The Saviour!

We went in to the main room for worship with the congregation for a short while before you a asked for Milo. Thus, Papa brought you out and prepared some for you. After we went back inside, you boomed so Papa had to bring you to get your diaper changed! Oh well ... :p

When we got back, Sunday School had started so we brought you directly to it. You were a bit shy and didn't want to be with the big group so we hung out at the fringe. But when it was storytelling time, you wanted to go help stick on the felt characters so we went forward. :D

After the storytelling, it was art and craft time. The parents were supposed to leave you there so Papa tried it today. You were quite comfortable and didn't come looking for Papa or Mama. So, we left you alone to draw. We were in the main room for a while. The whole time we were wondering if you were still okay. We went out to look for you after a while and you were sitting with the others watching TV and eating a chocolate wafer! Well done, Lil' One! But, we were so nervous throughout that time wondering if you're okay. We needn't have worried. :D But now, we feel sad that you don't need us as much anymore as you're getting increasingly independent. :p Oh well... You'll still be ours for a few more years. We'll enjoy as much of that as we can.

Also, we’re a bit concerned that they gave you all a piece of chocolate without clearing it with the parents i.e. us! Chocolate is something that’s a bit complex to process and we don’t think you’re ready for it yet. :p Oh well …

We then bought some groceries before rushing home as we were waiting for the delivery of Mama's new computer. :D

We then all had a nap.

After we got up, we went to the Point for dinner at the sushi place. You only ate a bit before you got restless. We think it's because you were developing a cough. Oh well...

You wanted to visit the pink Sharity elephant but the exhibition was over by the time Mama and you got there. But you received another sheet of stickers! :p

After we got home you started coughing quite badly. You were also quite cranky and really tried Papa's patience as he was quite tired by then. We put you to bed as you needed to rest and you fell asleep soon after.

Papa and Mama love you!

Teacher Pearl

Dearest Skyler,

Papa brought you for your gym lesson today. Mama had some work to rush so she couldn’t come along though she badly wanted to.

When we got to the usual carpark we go to, there weren’t any available lots and we had to wait. You actually told Papa that you wanted to go home! But when Papa clarified, you did want to go for your gym lesson. :D You just wanted to get out of your seat and you were a bit confused.

As it looked as it was going to drizzle, Papa drove over to the carpark in the building where the gym is instead to park.

Today was the first lesson of another term, Lil’ One. You so enjoyed the last term that we decided that we had to let you continue. Papa really doesn’t know how much of these gym lessons you’ll remember but it’s important that you enjoy yourself now. You’ve learnt so much from these lessons – you’ve grown in confidence and you’ve come to learn to accept other people – like your teachers here.

At several parts of the lesson, you kept on asking for Teacher Pearl to come and help you though Papa was there. :D You seem to really like her, Lil’ One. And we think that Teacher Pearl likes you too. However, you’re still very shy with the other kids and adults so you still run away or stay away from them when they come too close to you. Thus, you sometimes wander away from the teacher though you want her to come and help you with the skills. Oh well…

After the lesson was over, you got a couple of stamps from Teacher Pearl and you also gave her a hug. You’d actually wanted to hug her inside the gym area but she was busy with the other kids and other admin stuff so you could only do that at the admin area once the other kids and their parents had left. :p Well, we’ll see her again, okay? :D

Papa then drove you home to pick Mama up for lunch. Papa didn’t bring you for your customary Milo drink after the gym as Papa wanted to get home as early as possible. :p You asked for the Milo in the car but we’d already left. Sorry!

By the time we got home, you were already sound asleep. We picked Mama up from our place and drove over to the Point for a dim sum lunch – yes, once more. :p You ate up a whole egg tart and a char siew bao all by yourself. You’re getting very good at feeding yourself with a fork and a spoon. Well done, Lil’ One! :D

After lunch, Mama brought you to watch the Sharity Elephant performance at the stage area and she got you a sheet of stickers. Mama had to ask the performance helpers for it as they had already packed away everything as we were a bit late but they were nice enough to give it to you. :D

Papa picked up his new spectacles today. :D You got used to it very quickly though you did a double-take when Mama pointed it out to you. :D

We then came home to rest. We all took a nap in the afternoon and only woke up in the evening.

We ordered pizza in for dinner. Mama and Papa had also eaten the curry chicken that Uncle James and Aunty Chris gave us. It was very yummy. You wanted to try it but it was too spicy for you right now. Mama gave you a small taste and you couldn’t take it. :p You had a bit of cheese pizza and garlic bread. We also gave you an apple and some of the durian cake left over from Mama’s birthday celebration yesterday. You’re really eating a whole lot more, Lil’ One. It’s so amazing the amount of food that you’re willing to try and actually eat. :D It’s so easy to get food now. And it’s so much easier since you’ve learnt how to use a fork and spoon. :D

We didn’t go out in the evening as Papa needed to do some house chores and we wanted you to have an early night so that we could go to church in the morning and you would be sufficiently rested.

Papa and Mama love you!

Mama's Birthday

Dearest Skyler,

Today's special for two reasons, Lil' One.

It's Good Friday, the day we remember that our Lord Jesus Christ gave his life for us. Jesus took our place in punishment for our sins resulting in us being innocent in God’s eyes thereby saving us from eternal punishment!

Today also happens to be Mama's birthday!

After we got up, you helped Papa make a birthday card for Mama. You drew the colours from the 'Rainbow Song' on her card! :D You also gave the card to Mama.

We then drove to the Ikea at Alexandra to look for the clogs that we wanted. They had all the colours and Papa's size. But they didn't have Mama's. Oh well...

We had lunch at the cafeteria there. It was very crowded. You only wanted to eat the spaghetti. :p

You were also very 'territorial'. You hung on to Papa's chair and refused to let anyone take it away while Papa was gone buying food. Thank you, Lil' One. :D

After lunch we drove over to Godma Audrey's. You had been so looking forward to it! :D Godma had agreed to watch you for the afternoon so that Papa and Mama could spend a bit of alone time together.

You had a great time with Godma. You fed the fish, did some colouring, painting, made another birthday card for Mama, played with the bean bag, read a book, ... You did lots of things! :D The only thing you didn't do was take a nap! Oh well... When we got back, you were all tired out! :p

We then went over to Popo's to celebrate Mama's birthday with Bubu, Moh-moh and her. You ate so much food there. Papa had to replenish your rice a couple of times as you were still going strong.

While we were there, Bubu introduced you to 'Totoro', a Japanese anime. But this version had been dubbed in Cantonese. That didn't stop you from enjoying it! You were totally riveted to it! :p

We also had a big durian cake as Mama's birthday cake. You enjoyed it tremendously! :D

It was very late by the time we got home. But that didn't stop you from wanting to go through your whole bedtime routine. :D

Papa and Mama love you!

Shopping with Popo

Dearest Skyler,

Papa was able to come home early this afternoon as Papa's workplace had a special event today that ended early.

After Papa got home, we drove to the Point for a dim sum lunch. You wanted to go visit the growling bear but we couldn't as the exhibition was over. Besides, we had to rush down to the hospital as Mei-mei had an appointment to be scanned once more.

You were so sleepy that you fell asleep in the car on the way there. Papa stayed with you in the car while Mama went up for the appointment after we got to the hospital. We went to look for Mama after you got up.

We had to wait for Mama for a while as Mama had already gone in to see the doctor when we got there.

After Mama was done, we drove down to Ngee Ann City and had an early dinner at Sushi Tei. You ate quite a bit of food once more.

We then left you with Popo to do some shopping as we had to go off to do something that didn't allow us to bring you.

When we were done, we met up with you both again. Popo had bought you some strawberries and grapes! We wonder how you're going to finish them all before they spoil. :p But you're going to try, right?

Popo had also brought you to the bookshop and you ran around with a book as you usually do. :D You were also brought to play with all kinds of toys and you really enjoyed yourself! :D

We headed home after that.

Papa and Mama love you!

Birthday Celebrations

Dearest Skyler,

We had asked Aunty Jiamin to come help us do some housework today. When she vacuumed the floor, you were so scared that you insisted on sitting on Mama's lap during the whole process! Poor Mama couldn't do anything at all.

Papa came home in the evening and we drove down to have dinner with Grandma. Mama's and Papa's birthdays are approaching and as Grandma will be overseas celebrating Kor-kor Kenji's and Che-che Reika's birthdays with them, we had to celebrate ours before she left.

We drove down to the mall nearby and had dinner at the Chinese restaurant. Mama then went out to get a cake so we could have a birthday cake with candles. You helped us to blow the candles out! :D

We then drove Grandma home.

On our way home, we stopped over at Ikea to look for something but they didn't have it. Oh well...

You were so tired when we got home that you were willing to skip your bedtime routine to sleep immediately. :p

Papa and Mama love you!

Mama's Lil' Helper

Dearest Skyler,

You were such an industrious little girl today. You helped Mama to wash the rice and various vegetables while preparing lunch. :D We are so happy that you're so willing to help out around the house.

In the afternoon, Mama read you your books and also played with your toys and everything! :D

You only took a nap later in the afternoon. By the time you woke up, Papa was home from work.

We had our dinner as Mama had prepared some food.

Then we cleared up the flat so that Aunty Jiamin can come tomorrow to help clean up the place. However, when we packed up your play mat, there was so much dirt and such that Papa simply had to vacuum! :p

You were a bit scared of the vacuum cleaner still so Mama had to sit with you. But you still wanted to help push it around. :D

After showering, we headed to the Point for some ice cream. Papa had ordered a salad and you speedily took a few croutons when it was served. You even grabbed all the wafer bits that were in the ice cream and didn't want to share any with Mama! :D You are such a biscuit eater! :D You even tried the cherry but you didn't like it and spit it back out. :p

We came home after our ice cream as it was very late.

You've started such a cute thing! Mama did a cross stitch of a bear for Papa many many years ago and we've had it in our room since we got married. Coincidentally, it looks very much like Baby Bear! You've taken to carrying that cross stitch to show Baby Bear his 'picture'! It's so amusing to us as it actually does look like Baby Bear's portrait! :D

Papa and Mama love you!

Painting

Dearest Skyler,

Mama and you prepared Cod Fish porridge for lunch today. Both of you had lots of fun doing that. :D

In the afternoon, Mama took out the painting set we'd bought from Robinson's over the weekend and you did some painting. You did some nice paintings! Well done! :D

Papa came home after work and tried to nap with you but ended up waking you instead. You woke up being distressed that there was a plaster on your foot. Mama’s put it there because you’d a ‘blister’ of some sort and we didn’t want you scratching it and infecting it. :p Poor Darling! :(

After we got up we went to the library. You were so excited that you kept on calling for Mama across the library! :p We got you new books and also there was a spin the wheel thing where we each got a token - a pencil and a couple of magnets.

We then moved over to the Point for a spaghetti and mango pizza dinner. Once again you were totally gung-ho about trying everything such as the mango pizza. This was the first time we ate such a thing! :p

After dinner, we went grocery shopping and you helped to carry the basket, put our purchases in it and ran around playing. :D

We came home and began your bedtime routine after a bit of TV. Your routine has become really complex! First we have to have a picnic where we have a cup of tea and a sandwich. This is followed by a camp under a tent where we have soup and watermelon. Then you want to make shadow bunnies before we say our prayers and wish each other a good night.

We so love you, Lil' One!

Gym Camp 2

Dearest Skyler,

We were supposed to have gone to church this morning but you were up so early and took so long to go back to bed that we decided not to. If we had gone, you would have been sleepy and probably cranky the rest of the day. Thus, we waited for you to go back to bed. After we woke up, we quickly got ready to try out the gym camp once more.

It was raining quite heavily when we got there so we parked in the building itself. When we arrived at the gym itself, we were wondering if we had come at the correct time as all the kids there were older but we were assured that it was the right time. :p

Teacher Geri was in charge today. She was aware of what had happened yesterday so she came to see how you were. That's the amazing thing about the teachers there, they share information with each other and though she's never taught you before, she was still concerned.

Both Mama and Papa stayed with you throughout the session and you were totally fine today. Yay! But what happened yesterday? Hmmm...

We went through a similar warm up routine and played with the balloons. After that we played with the balls and practised a few skills.

You were once again your usual self - you wanted to try everything and were still wary of the other kids. Mama says that you're just like her in this aspect - she was very shy in public too when she was your age.

You particularly enjoyed dunking the ball into the basketball hoop after walking across the balancing beam. :D

The teachers then gave you all a small drink of diluted apple juice and biscuits for a snack. You ate so many of the biscuits! You were so greedy, Lil' One! :p

The camp ended with some more ball playing and bubbles. :D It's always so amusing to see you kids pulling your shirts up for ‘bubbles on your tummies’. :D

As we were leaving you went to thank Teacher Geri and gave her a hug and a kiss on her cheek. :D

We went to the Toys 'R' Us after that to look for something for your cousins as two of their birthdays are approaching. You had a fun time playing with the toys there.

We headed to Plaza Singapura after that. We had dinner at the food court. You ate so much of our food. You're really eating a lot nowadays, Lil' One. And you're very adventurous too! You want to eat anything we have! :D

Papa then brought you to visit the sheep at the mattress store. But you were wary of the store assistant so you didn't go into the store.

You then hung out at the kiddie rides for quite some time. You wanted to have them move but Papa didn't have the correct coin so that didn't happen. :p

You then went into Spotlight and played with the feather boas.

We then went to look for a present for Che-che Reika before buying some stuff from Carrefour and heading home. You were so sleepy by then that you fell asleep once we put you in your seat.

What a long and tiring day, Lil' One.

Papa's holiday is over. Papa has to go back to work from tomorrow, Lil' One. Papa'll miss Mama and you very very much!

Papa and Mama love you!

Gym Camp

Dearest Skyler,

Papa brought you to the gym today. Mama couldn't come along as she had some work to rush. When we brought you to the car, we were still worried that you wouldn't accept your new car seat but you were totally fine! :D Phew!

Papa and you got to the carpark early enough that we had no problems getting a lot. We even got to the gym early. :D

Mama and you had prepared a card for Teacher Pearl so we gave it to her first thing on arrival. You also gave her a hug and had a photo taken with her. :D

We started the gym camp well enough with our taking part in the warm up activities but you froze up on the last run around. Papa didn't think much about it and just carried you for the run. However, you didn't enjoy being carried for the run like you usually did.

Teacher Pearl then took out some balloons for you to play with but you didn't want to. You started asking to go back to the car and wanting to go home. You also started giving everyone the evil eye! :p Papa had no choice but to bring you out as you had headed to the door and tried to get out on your own. We said our goodbyes to Teacher and left.

We went to the McDonald's next door to get you a Milo and you drank it all up on your own! Papa didn't even get a sip! :D

Mama asked Papa to ask the teachers at the gym if you could do a make-up for the camp as you hardly did anything and they very kindly agreed! The Little Gym is so amazing! They are so customer friendly that they don't give any problems at all when we need to do make-ups, etc! And they make the effort to remember everyone's names! We're so glad we bring you there.

We headed back to the car to head home for lunch with Mama. As we still had coupons that hadn't expired, Papa passed them on to the car that took over our parking lot.

We picked Mama up and headed to the Point for a dim sum lunch.

You wanted to see the growling bear so we brought you there. They had also gotten someone to dress up in a lion suit and allowed people to take photos with him. The problem was that the colouring of the lion suit was so sickly that people didn't even want to go close to it. This was a first for Papa as kids usually flock to these costumed characters. Papa himself was scared of it. :p

We then walked around a bit before heading home for a nap.

After we got up, we headed for a church group gathering at Aunty Niki and Uncle Peter's place. We were late. :p

We spent the whole evening there. You were so ravenous that you ate non-stop!

After we left their home, we dropped by the fairly well-known hawker centre, Chomp- chomp. This was was the first time we were there. We managed to find a stall that sold porridge similar to the kind we enjoyed when we were younger. :D

We headed home after that.

Papa and Mama love you!

New Car Seat

Dearest Skyler,

We drove Mama over to her school so she could do something. While waiting for her, Papa and you stopped over at the nearby clubhouse to walk around. We explored what we could but we didn’t really get to see anything that interesting. There was a bit of space at the lobby for you to run around but that was about it. :p

After picking Mama up when she was done, we headed over to Ngee Ann City. We had a late lunch at Sushi Tei. You ate quite a bit of food. You're really eating lots more now - on top of your milk too! :D

We then went for the Baby Fair that was going on in the basement. You had lots of fun playing with all the things you could reach - cars, rides, etc. You were also so intrigued by the toy 'sculpture' of a baby in a hot air balloon that you kept on pointing at it and talking about it. :D

Mama and Papa spent some time looking around for a car seat for Mei-mei as they had several on sale. However, in the end, we bought one for you instead! It was a nice red one that is supposed to be very good at keeping you safe if we get into a vehicular collision. We hope you like it. :p

We're going to pass your current car seat to Mei-mei, okay? It's suitable for a new born baby like Mei-mei will be ... Just like you were when you were born! :D

We also bought matching shirts for Mei-mei and you! :D You both can wear them after Mei-mei's born. :p

After we'd put away your car seat in the car, we went to Paris Miki so that Mama could get something done. While we were waiting for her, you went around the store and tried on different spectacle frames. You looked so cute but we so hope that you won't need to wear such aids until much much later in life. Sadly, you'll probably have to some day as both Mama and Papa have to. :(

When Mama was done, we went for dinner at the Swensen's across the road. You were so hungry that you started picking at our salad and practically devoured the whole of the milkshake float! And you ate lots of our baked rice too!

The Manageress was very nice! We asked her if she had any children's kits such as colouring pencils and when she couldn't find any, she came back with a wafer that you immediately ate! :D That's service for you! If only all service outlets had such great service!

After dinner, we went to check out this place in Takahashimaya that did casts of hands and feet as we thought of having one made for you and Mei-mei. We left quite disappointed at the poor business model that they had. They charged a lot for the work involved but they provided severely limited options. Sigh... Oh well...

After such a long day, we drove home. You were so exhausted by then that you slept all the way home.

Papa installed your new car seat after Mama and you had gone home. We hope that you will like it, Lil' One! :p

Papa and Mama love you!

Growling Bear

Dearest Skyler,

It was a cold day today. The rain has been coming down every day the whole week. Our windows frosted over and Mama brought you over to them to do some finger drawing on them. :D

We went down to the Point in the afternoon for a dim sum lunch. We ended up spending the whole afternoon there.

You wanted to see the robotic bear in the wildlife conservation exhibition so we brought you to it. There, you got so scared of it, you didn't want to go closer. After we walked off, you said that you wanted to touch it so Papa brought you up to it. But you got scared again so we walked off. Then you wanted Papa to touch it instead so we went back there for Papa to touch it. Later, you wanted Mama to touch it and she did. Yet, you still didn't dare to. It doesn't matter, Lil' One. But remember! Don't touch a real bear! :D

We continued walking and we bumped into a former student of Papa's. She was helping to sell toys and such. She'd come to visit you when you were just born. But you can't remember her now obviously.

We then went up to the ice cream place for some ice cream. We had a coupon for a free sundae as it was our birthday month! :D So, we had some ice cream for free! :D

After the ice cream, we headed down to town for dinner with Popo. It was still raining so the roads were crowded with vehicles. Thank God we got there safely.

Popo came soon after and she helped to feed you.

After dinner, we drove Popo home before heading home ourselves.

We're trying to get you to brush your teeth but you don't seem to like it. Oh well!

But you're doing very well in the control of fork or spoon when feeding yourself. Well done, Lil' One!

Papa and Mama love you!

Shopping

Dearest Skyler,

We drove down to Raffles City to pick up something from Aunty Makiko. We then had lunch at Sushi Tei. You ate a lot of food! It totally surprised us! :D You ate half a watermelon and pear on top of that! :D Well done!

We then shopped at Robinson's where we got you some washable finger paint.

After that, we went over to Suntec City. Mama went to have her hair cut short. Papa and you shopped at Carrefour before walking around. We visited the fountain, fed the fish, visited the rabbits and hamsters and sat on a ride (Papa helped to steer). :D

After doing all that, we dropped by to check on Mama's progress. As she was not yet done, we went to McDonald's and shared a Hot Fudge Sundae. :D

When we were done, we went back up to check on Mama. By then, she was almost done. Papa brought you to the store next door to play with the toy teeter-totter and house while we waited for her. Mama joined us there when she was finally done.

We then went for dinner at Olio Dome. After dinner, we went back to Carrefour to buy some stuff before heading home.

You'd been awake the whole day with no nap at all. And you were going so strong! :D

Papa and Mama love you!

Zoo

Dearest Skyler,

We went to the zoo today. We managed to catch the elephant show. Gambir boomed into the water right in front of us! You got scared and wanted leave. We don’t know how seeing that affected you, Lil’ One. But you really didn’t like that. :(

You wanted Milo. We got you some at the fast food place.

While we were there, it started raining. It’s a good thing that we came out when we did. That is, it was a good thing that you wanted to leave after seeing Gambir do what he (she?) did.

Papa was going to collect the car, but you wanted Papa to carry you. And you told Mama to get the car - in the rain! You’re such a naughty girl. As we didn’t want to carry you in the rain, Mama had no choice but to get the car while Papa and you waited. You cannot do such a thing again, Lil’ One. Papa’s the Papa – he should be the one doing these kinds of things! :p

We drove to the Point and had a dim sum lunch. After that, you had a haircut. You’re so brave! You weren’t worried about the hair dresser at all. You just sat there and let him get on with it! :D

We then visited the wild life conservation exhibition. You got scared by the caged animatronic bear that they had. It would growl in pain every now and then and that made you scared.

You wanted some corn soup so we got it for you. :D After that, we bought dinner home.

We then had a nap.

We woke up for dinner and stayed at home as we were quite tired.

Papa and Mama love you.

Playtime

Dearest Skyler,

Mama brought you to Aunty Chris's after you woke up this morning. You played with Mei-mei Dawn. You had fun playing with the bicycle they had. :D We’re thinking of getting you a bicycle as well but they’re all still too big for you. Your leg can barely reach the pedal. We’ll wait until you’re taller, okay? :p

After a while, you came home with Mama and took a nap. You were so sleepy that you fell asleep while waiting for Mama to have a 'picnic' with you. Poor Baby Gal.

Papa came home after you woke up from your nap.

We then went for dinner with Grandma and Pek-pek at Grandma’s place. You’re still so painfully shy around Pek-pek, Lil’ One. You’ve seen him a few times already and you still have difficulty being comfortable around him. Oh well…

We came home after that.
Papa and Mama love you!

Gym Again!

Dearest Skyler,

We went to church today it was the monthly Family Sunday. You played with Che-che Alyssa while we were in the main hall – you both did some colouring and ate biscuits and cereal. :D

After a while, you got very restless so we left a bit earlier. We had a snack at Spinelli's before heading to the gym for your make-up lesson.

It was Show Week today too so Mama could join us again. You volunteered to demonstrate all the skills! You picked up the bells yourself. You're so much more confident! We’re so glad that you have this opportunity to develop this confidence, body awareness and other social skills. :D

We went to the bookshop after your session ended and Mama picked up lots of books for you. :D

You were so sleepy by then that you slept in the car immediately on being placed in your seat.

We came home to nap as all of us were so tired.

For dinner, Uncle James and Aunty Chris gave us some spaghetti that they had prepared. Thank you! It was delicious!
Papa and Mama love you, Lil’ One!

Forum

Dearest Skyler,

You woke up early this morning and we stayed awake as it was an awkward time. That is, we didn’t have enough time to go back to sleep but it was too early for us to go out. We decided to visit a childcare centre as it was supposed to have an 'Open House'. We’re still exploring the option of having you attend a childcare centre – or at least pre-school.

We drove down to the branch near the MRT station but found out that they were not involved in the 'Open House'! But the teacher there was kind enough to bring us around to show us the facilities.

After that we drove down to town for your gym lesson. It was 'Show Week' so Mama was allowed to come in to take photographs and such.

After gym, you wanted to watch the Fun Song Factory programme being shown on TV at the nearby shop. We let you watch a few seconds before we brought you away. We headed to the playyground instead where you had some fun playing with the equipment there.

We then went to Cedele for lunch. You so like to eat soup, Lil’ One. We walked around Border’s a bit before we headed home for a nap.

For dinner, we went down to Popo's. Bubu and Moh-moh met us there for the meal as well and you had a great time playing with them all. :D

Papa and Mama love you!

Fish Pond

Dearest Skyler,

Mama and you played at home the whole day. You watched lots of TV as usual!

In the evening, Mama managed to coax you out by promising to bring you to look at the fish in Papa's school's fish pond. :D

After picking Papa up, we drove over to the Point to pick up some stuff before coming home.

Papa then went to pick up food from Aunty Chris and Uncle James. They had prepared extra food for us - mee siam and chicken wings! There were lots of prawns in the mee siam! And they were all so tasty! Thank you!

We got you to bed a bit earlier tonight.

Papa and Mama love you!

Skyler Has A Mei-mei

Dearest Skyler,

You woke up fairly early again today and all in all had insufficient sleep. Sigh… you were a bit slow as a result. Poor Darling.

Today was a big day for us as we were going to the hospital to have a detailed scan on Baby. We will find out what gender Baby is! :D Will you have a mei-mei or a di-di? :p

Mama and you came to pick Papa up from work before we drove to the hospital together. Mama and Papa were quite excited as we were when we had you, Lil’ One. :p

In the scanning room, we got to see lots of images of Baby and guess what! You're going to have a Mei-mei! Probably! We mean the scan can't be 100% sure but more likely than not, you have a Mei-mei coming! :D Either way, you’re going to be a che-che, Lil’ One! How about that? :D

The scan took quite a bit of time and you got bored as you didn't know what was going on. You started hopping and doing everything in there to keep yourself entertained. Poor Baby Gal! As Mama needed to have something confirmed, she had to go through another scan and this time round Papa stayed outside with you.

After Mama was done, we headed off to see our regular gynae before heading off.

By that time you were so tired and sleepy that once we put you in the car, you fell right asleep.

We drove down to Suntec City as they were having an IT Show and we were thinking of getting something. You were still sleeping when we got there so Mama went up first to recce the place while Papa waited for you to wake up.

You stirred after some time, probably due to the heat, so Papa got you out and we joined Mama at the IT Show.

We walked around a bit and as you were still so sleepy you fell asleep in Papa's arms! Thus, Papa had to carry you throughout our walking around! You're no longer light, Lil' One! :p Wow! Papa’s arms and shoulders completely ached by the time we were done. :p

After we'd bought what we wanted, we headed for dinner. You were still sleeping and Papa was completely feeling the strain of having carried you for so long.

We ate at the ice cream restaurant and thankfully you were awake by then. :D

We headed home after dinner and as you were so tired, we put you to bed soon after.

We're quite excited that you're having a Mei-mei, Lil' One. You'll be going to school with her when you're both old enough. :D
Papa and Mama love you!

Just Another Day

Dearest Skyler,

You woke up again in the morning to see Papa off. You so don't want Papa to leave for work, Lil' One. But Papa doesn't have a choice. Papa hopes that you understand. :(

Mama and you went back to bed after a while.

After you woke up again, you helped Mama clean the vegetables and prepare them for the soup Mama made for your lunch. You're still afraid of the blender but thankfully you were ok with it long enough for Mama to get it done.

In the evening, Papa came back from work and we went down to the Point for some corn soup for dinner. We then did a little shopping before heading home.

You're well on the way to being well, Lil' One!

Papa and Mama love you!

Books and Reading

Dearest Skyler,

You woke up when Papa did and Mama and you sent Papa off to work after your Milo and diaper change.

You so enjoy reading books now. You'd go through your library books and say some things about what you see or you'd ask Mama to read to you. That's so great! :D

Mama and you played with bubbles and listened to music. Basically both of you had fun with each other – as usual! :D

Papa came home in the evening and after dinner, we drove over to the Point to buy some stuff - Mama wanted to make soup for you. You so enjoyed swinging from the handle bar of the trolley. It's so dangerous but we're happy to see you this active again. But hmmm… maybe you shouldn’t be doing that? :p

You still have diarrhoea, Lil' One, but you're so much better. Thank God that you’re this much better! :D

Mama read lots of books to you before we went for our picnic and camping trip before bed. :D
Papa and Mama love you!

Skyler’s Not Well

Dearest Skyler,

You had a fever throughout the night and Mama cared for you. Mama had also managed to slip a cooling gel pad onto your forehead! Later in the night, you woke Papa up to ask for it to be removed but as Papa hadn't known that Mama had put it on you and it was dark, Papa didn't understand what it was you wanted done. When Mama came in, we switched on the light and it was only then that Papa saw the patch.

Your fever had been so high that the pad was completed warm. Thus, we had to administer another suppository. It was only later on that you managed to go back to sleep.

In the morning, Mama told Papa that your fever seemed to have been kept at bay and that you were hungry. Yay! Praise God! You seem to be better!

In the afternoon, Popo came to visit you as she knew that you were not well. She played with you for a short while before she left for work.

You had not had diarrhoea in the morning and we were hopeful that it had come to an end but you boomed bad in the afternoon. Sigh...

Mama brought you by train to meet Papa in the afternoon. It was terrible for Mama as you refused to walk and Mama had to carry you most of the way while balancing an umbrella and carrying a huge bag. Poor Mama!

After picking Papa up, we drove down to Mama's school so that she could do a couple of things. You were so sleepy that you slept throughout.

Mama told Papa that you wanted to watch fireworks in the sky so we decided to bring you to Sentosa. You had suffered so much the past few days with your fever and diarrhoea we decided to give you a treat.

We took a tram to the foodcourt for dinner. While we were there, you wanted some biscuits so Mama went to get some.

After dinner, we got onto a mini bus to head back to the 'Songs of the Sea' show. This was the first time we actually went in for the show.

We were a bit disappointed with the storyline but the fire, fountain, laser light show and fireworks were great! You were quite scared by the loud noises though. Poor Baby Gal. All in all, we think you quite enjoyed yourself.

We drove home after that. You were so tired by then you slept all the way home. Surprisingly we got home fairly early.

We went through our usual night routine of having a picnic and camping before turning in.

Papa and Mama love you!

Poor Skyler

Dearest Skyler,

We didn't go to church today as you were still suffering from a fever over night. The fever was only controlled by the suppository. Sigh...

Papa was actually hopeful that your diarrhoea had ended but it was not so. Sigh...

We went back to bed for a nap after we got up as we wanted you to have more rest though you really wanted to stay awake and watch TV.

In the afternoon, Bubu and Moh-moh came to visit you as they knew that you were unwell.

At that point, you were really distressed. We think you wanted to go out but couldn't understand why we hadn't. You wanted to go to the swimming pool. As you were ill and it was raining, we couldn't bring you. You then wanted to watch fireworks so we played a video clip of fireworks but you wanted to see them in the sky. So, Papa agreed to bring you to Sentosa to watch the fireworks there if you were well enough. It was sometime before you calmed down. Poor Darling Gal.

Bubu and Moh-moh played with you for a while before leaving. As you'd wanted to sit in their car, we all went down together. All of us got in and Bubu drove us around in their car. :D

After we got back, your fever shot up again so we brought you back to the doctor. We asked him to administer the suppository this time. :p

After we left the doctor, we knew that we couldn't bring you to watch the fireworks at Sentosa so we brought you to look at the swimming pool at the nearby condominium. We couldn't let you go in to the pool though you wanted to so badly as it was cold and you were not well.

We then drove home for a nap.

After the nap, we went to look for medicine for you. We also got a cup of Milo for you at the fastfood restaurant. We tried to give you some medicine in your Milo but you refused to drink it. You really hate taking medicine, Lil’ One.

We then drove over to play with the see-saw at the nearby playground for a short while before heading home. You had a bath before watching some TV. You seemed okay for a while but your temperature started shooting up again. Sigh...

Papa and Mama love you!

Tummy-Ache

Dearest Skyler,

You woke up early today and woke us all up. We had a bit of breakfast before we headed back to bed.

Papa and Mama tried to read the newspapers but you chose to sit on us together with Baby Bear. :D

You still had diarrhoea so we decided to bring you to see the 'Balloon Uncle'.

On the way out, you helped to carry the rubbish to the refuse chute. It was so heavy but you managed to carry it all the way. You refused any help from us. Thank you, Darling!

You were so shy in the doctor's office. You didn't say anything though he asked you some questions.

Mama brought you to look at the fish in the nearby pond while Papa waited for your medicine. We then brought you to the fastfood place for Milo but you boomed again and the queue was long so we went back to the car to change your diaper.

We went to buy lunch before heading home. After lunch, we tried to get you to take some medicine. You managed to take some but you really were reluctant throughout.

We then went to take a nap.

After we got up, we had leftovers for dinner. We tried to get you to take some more medicine but you refused. Oh well...

You kept on having tummy-ache throughout the day. Poor Baby!

We tried to get you to bed but you couldn't fall asleep due to your fever. You had some Pedialyte ice and water before you finally fell asleep.

Papa and Mama love you!
